For those of you who have not been informed. Jeremy Gorden CCS MW EX 407 passed away this weekend due to injuries received on the street while testing his race bike. From my perspective, looking at the skid marks and the bike, I think he had an encounter with a deer, and high sided trying to avoid a collision.
For those of you who were not fortunate enough to get to know Jeremy, he was a cheerfull fella who was instantly likeable, with an incredibly infectious smile that I am going to miss. I think he might have been more excited about racing than Ed and I put together.
Jeremy was planning to ride Moto-SST with his long time friend Eric Konigsberg, and recruited me as pit help. I would like to thank Ryan Hall for filling in for Jeremy as a rider. Together Eric and Ryan managed a third place finish in the ST class. On the podium, in a teary eyed, shaky voice, Eric dedicated the race to Jeremy. I am sure it meant allot for Erik to be able to say goodbye to our friend in a way that would have brought joy to Jeremy.

Jeremy was an amazing man, friend and husband.
Visitation and services will be held at Betzler Funeral Home, 6080 Stadium Drive, Kalamazoo, MI. (269)375-2900
Visitation will be Friday, July 13 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm.
The Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 14 at 11:00am.

I am sorry to hear of this loss to the racing community. I'm sure if there is something that Heather needs this community will pull together for her support. It is tragic that something like this happens but this community is so strong. I know that this situation is unlike my accident that I had last year, but I was so glad that Stephanie had the support of everyone on this forum. My prayers go out to Jeremy's family and commend the support this community has. I'm sure Jermey was at peace when this happend as we all are any time we are on a bike.

Sorry to hear that. I heard the dedication after the MotoSt race. Heart felt.
This was Eric's first race weekend back as Eagle racing after a four year retirement. He was very excited to be back and to ride with Jeremy in the moto-st. We learned of Jeremys accident friday night when we arrived at the track. We met Ryan Hall (Thank You Ed and Guy) to fill in-THANK YOU RYAN .YOU ARE AWESOME :thumb:
We learned of Jeremy's passing Sunday morning before the moto-st race. Eric was ready to pack up and not run that race.His heart was not in it, Until Heather called us two hours before the race.

How tragic and untimely. The passing of a roadracer is like the silence following the grand finale of a fireworks display. A collective sigh that relives the brilliance in the silence of memories. I have witnessed the ends of many mens lives, some small, some mighty, each one a candles flame that shone light upon others. But a roadracer is different, a touch of hero and somewhat noble, sharing a passion for loved ones and life that exceeds that standard of merely existing. Not so much a candle, more of a meteor shell, that lights up everyone around. Inspiring many more than are willing to admit it, and drawing the scornful looks of some, I'm quite sure Jeremy' s life had a profound effect on those who know him. For Heather and family, and those who mourn his loss, I am praying you find comfort in the hope of the One who promised eternal life, because He gave His life for all of us. And to all our roadracing bros and sisters, Jeremy's fallen banner is one that lives on and is lifted high each time we saddle up. Rest now Ex 407, there are no finer men that you could have chosen to be a part of this side of heaven.
