Title: Bridgestone BT-002
Post by: schmitty on June 24, 2007, 07:18:55 PM
Anybody out there ever used these?  I'm kind of on a budget, and these are the cheapest of the major manufacturer's DOT race tires.  I'm going to be running my first race at Blackhawk on the 28th of July :thumb:, will they have any trackside support there?  I know Track Addix is the distibutor, but are they at every round?  Thanks for any info!!

I used them last year and thought they were pretty decent for the price.  The bridgestone guy has yet to show up at BHF for an event this year so I wouldn't count on it unless you confirm with them.  I've since switched to Pirelli's and have doubled the amount of time I'm getting out of tires so yeah, they may cost more but they last longer and stick as well if not better imho.  Kinda sucked to be abandoned by Bridgestone the opening weekend too.

I used them for 2 years and absolutely loved them.  I was getting them directly from BS though through a sponsorship deal.  Their slicks are incredible and I have yet to find a rain that matches the BS.

The lack of consistent trackside support is what's killing them.  They have a great tire, good contingency and excellent pricing.  Just no Tommy Mason...

good tires but need to show up with them and have the dunlop guy put them on for you. the track side support has been their problem for years I think PTS is interested in other forms of racing.

Forgive me for asking, but since I'm new here , who's Tommy Mason?

who's Tommy Mason?

Midwest michelin guy.  Been around forever.  Knowledge, consistency, service.  That's the Tommy Mason program.

Seems like the MidWest has a problem, here in Mid-Atlantic Bridgestone trackside support is excellent, provided by Quentin Mize of  Mize Mobile. I know he goes as far west as Grattan, but as far as further, that is a good question. The Bridgestone be it Race DOT or Slick is excellent and yes their full wets are the best!

Good Luck Schmitty! And if you want to contact Mize, Pm me ok.

I'm the Southeast/North Florida/Mid Central Bridgestone guy for the last seven years. The tires we have now are very good. Sorry about the lack of support in your area. They have been working on getting things covered better.

The tires are as good as anything out there, but whoever comes into the area will have to contend with Tommy. I have heard good things about him for years.

Let me know if I can help you with anything.
