Here are a few things I saw at MAM that made an impression:
Nick Spooner, maybe more appropriately "Super Nick"(as long as Dave doesn't mind) now, ate the guard rail at speed near start/finish after his swingarm broke. Oh yeah, he also lost his brake lever at the end of that straight last year. I guess that straight and Nick just don't get along. Anyway, props to Nick for walking away and helping others the rest of the weekend!
Anthony Dean for pulling a good 3 seconds out of his ass! If you missed it, Anthony upped his game and hit 1:41s like it was nothing in his last 2 races of the weekend-on an SV! I am truly happy for you. Awesome job :thumb:
Rob Sobattka(sp?)- I don't really know the guy, but I pitted next to him last year and he seemed like a good guy. I know he was a novice then, so that would make him a first year expert. Anyway, I saw him towards the front end of the pack in all the races I watched in some pretty strong fields-good job!
Also, shout outs to all the lightweight peeps.....
Chris, Becka, Andy, Dan, Anthony Flaim and the rest of the gang-great racing this weekend!

HA!!! got you fooled! thanks for the props, it was a pretty good weekend
Yep, Anthony did awesome! :thumb: You guys turned some fast lap times.
Too bad you couldn't stay on Monday for the track day, I took out the 999s on a demo. Got to thank Jason for the fun demo, I heard Ducati wasn't too impressed with the knees down on thier demo bike. :spank:
I wish I could have stayed for the demos :wah: did it rain on you guys at all? I was driving by the track on the way back to STL at about 845am and it was sprinkling a bit.
fun weekend all the way around, catch you guys at gateway :thumb:
Props to Dustin Boyd.. I will catch you one of these days!! after I catch you I don't know what I will do then :ahhh:
Great Job to everyone!!! what a great weekend. Shouts to TrackAddix's for the organization and mass amounts of entertainment and fun.
Thanks Jack but its easier when you jut follow someone and turn off the brain. After the race I saw the lap times and my heart stopped. New Riding Technique, "Kirk to Scotty, disengage the Brain Mechanism we need more speed".
A quick shout to Becca -- wow -- what a race we had. I think the announcer is still talking about it. Great Ride as always.
And to the many many new riders and racers (packed school) welcome and get your butts to Hastings, its a great track.

That was a FUN race! Next time I'll try not to throw knee sliders at you!
Jack-you were untouchable out there! Great job man! It was a blast watching Becka and Anthony go at it. Anthony really dropped the hammer-great fun! I really enjoyed watching all the races. Normally I am running around doing my own thing so I am lucky to see more than a couple races through the day so that was cool.
The straight and I had a little chat this weekend-I think we are cool with each other now so hopefully it won't try to kill me again...
My 2nd Roadrace ever was highlighted not on the track (I've gotten assured twice now that I'm not a 'fast guy'), but in the pits when FunSize and Simone came to the rescue of a stupid noob who forgot some important things in Kansas. THANK YOU GUYS! Definitely made my weekend even if I still haven't got a trophy. :wah:
Always happy to help.
Sounds like you guys had fun. Wished I would have been there. I'm still cleaning the mud off my bikes from the vintage races.
I was happy that it didn't rain. Would have liked to have more practice...and proper race lengths, but that I have to blame on all the falling down in the races earlier in the day... :wtf:
"Pretty" Nick is better than Super...
I like "pretty" Nick better too. I think that goes well with Nick!
Id like to say Hey to everyone that was a the track school on Monday, if anyone of them is on here. Hope everyone had a great time, I sure didi! Sorry about passing everyone... You all were just to slow... :P

Jack
Good meeting you and all the other LW folks.
Thanks for demonstrating my lap times have nothing to do with being SS legal!
My Daughter asked if i beat the girl yet, I bowed my head and she smiled. I believe Becka has a new fan!
Hope to see you guys at BHF.

He is pretty... even covered in mud! :ass: Sorry Nick, I couldn't help it.
aflaim, it's a lot easier to catch the experts when they don't get a 5 second head start. :thumb:
sounds like you guys had fun. hey Jacky boy, you coming down/over to Gateway in June? Im looking forward to racing with you again, the last chance was at MAM, and by the time we got past that motard and caught back up to spooner it started raining and we hadent even had the chance to swap spots yet :wah: . anyway congrats on a good weekend everyone hope to see you around.
Unfortunately, I probably won't make Gateway as I have a 20 year high school reunion in town that weekend. Thats right, I'm old. It is tempting though......showing you the fast way around your home track that I've never been to might just be worth it
Oh yeah, not to burst your bubble, but at MAM I was recovering from 2 crashes due to suspension issues, so I wasn't pushing it, especially with the damp spots. I also think most of the other riders were riding conservatively due to the conditions with the exception of one rider. I'm not trying to take anything away from you(you do have some talent), but it does seem a reality check is in order. Best of luck with the rest of the season, and hopefully we get a chance to line up together before it is over.
sorry friend, a reality check is not in order. i too was recovering from a crash the day before and was on street tires with a replacement bar that was 1 inch lower than the other :thumb:. I also out qualified you on street tires due to a tire being cut the session before. Come on down to gateway, I may even break out the race tires. Youre fast no doubt about that, hopefully faster than I am, but I look forward to a race with you soon. ever think about coming to play with WERA?
Did you win a big ass trophy for that qualifying session?
You do need a reality check. You beat me in 1 session last year(only 1), but you still shit talk me. What a fuggin joke. At least accomplish something before you start in on that crap. I do think you are a pretty good kid, but you come across as an ass too much. I know you are hoping on sponsorship for next year, but understand this stuff doesn't help you accomplish that.
I'd love to travel for some races, but I only have about $3k for this season, so I can only do about 6 weekends if I stay close to home(same deal as last year). I hope to have a little better budget in the years to come, but it is tough with a family, and saving for retirement, kids college, etc... I really envy you getting to chase your dreams. Unfortunately, mine have to be a little more realistic. Good luck with everything, and if there is any way I can swing Gateway, I will.
Don't make me come down there......................................... :ass:

that is my original post. no where in the post do i mention anything about beating you or being better or even as good as you. I was simply stating that i was looking forward to racing with you in that race but was unable to due to the weather.
To which you replied :

sounds like excuses. as well as the first agressive words in our post's saying i needed a reality check. Id say if you need to defend your finishes against mine, a lowly amatuer, youve got other things to worry about. I think youre a good guy too, I just dont appreciate the completly unwarranted calling out when i had done nothing but compliment your good weekend. Aside from that, ive got no real beef, the only thing i have to say is at least wait till im actually an ass to come at me, i promise you will get a chance in the future  I hope you can make it to gateway Im sure you experts are far to fast for me to catch from the second/amatuer wave but I promise Ill give it my all.

come on down, i couldnt quite catch you last year but Id love another shot. Although I hear you may have a windscreen this year so I think we are all screwed.
If your so fast why don't you bump up to expert..??

Ben,
I just don't read it that way, but I guess we see a few things different. My internet connection sucks, so I'm going to bed.
Later,
Jack
Sounds good Jack. we shall agree to slightly disagree :thumb: I really do look forward to racing with you again, ive been trying to get back at you for that whooping you gave me at Topeka last year.
The reason I didnt bump to expert this year was because I went to run with a different org. and i didnt feel i was ready. The amatuer class is quite a bit more competitive than the am ranks in the gp region and equal if not a bit deeper than the mw region, and much more consistent. However our plan is to run for a national championship this year and we are giving it our best shot, realistically we have no shot at the title in the expert ranks this year, hell winning in the AM ranks will be more than a challenge, but like i said were going to give it our all and try to learn as much as possible before we jump on the big bikes and try to get some attention. Im flat out not fast enough to run consistently competitive in the expert ranks in my WERA region and I didnt feel I had enough experience yet to make the jump.
Everyone leaves the lightwieght ranks just as it's getting good! :pop:
I'll be here for a couple more years :thumb:
maybe :err:

I'll be working the AMA Superbike/Supermoto race at Miller. My plan to fly in to Gateway to race didn't work out. I was hoping to get into the 10's. Maybe next year when we will be gridded next to each other at the start.
ohh come on, just rent a helicopter, weve got a landing pad right in the infield and everything. :thumb: as for next year its likely i wont be able to afford to keep my lw superbike around. If i make this size effort on the big bike im going to need every penny I can scrounge. I wish i could keep this bike it is turning into a pretty special motorcycle, but we will see what we can work out for next year. Maybe you should buy it KC  it even has a windscreen, a super special extra fast windscreen at that.
Kevin wouldn't know what to do with a windscreen! He'd probaly go faster if he took it off!
Hey Becka you running the friday MCRA day?
