Title: Avon Viper Sport Pressures
Post by: schmitty on May 22, 2007, 08:43:17 PM
New to the board, but has anyone used these?  I tried the manufacturer but they don't have any track data.  I ride a Buell Firebolt XB9R.  Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Schmitty

use  a tire that you get trackside support. michelin, dunlop, pirelli, bridgestone. anything else is a mistake :thumb:

Avon's support people are in the Northeast.  Can't remember if it's Oregon or Washington.

The Avon's are made in the UK market.  They are a pretty good tire for cooler temperatures.  My experience with them is that they get pummeled in warmer US temperatures in addition to the different aggregates that our pavement has compared to Europe.  So, their longevity isn't as good as some of the other supported brands.

I use Michelins too.  And I'll burn them down to nothing in schools and such.  No, they aren't as good as new ones, but they are better than my experiences with Avons with less miles on them.
