Title: POWER RACE PSI
Post by: xb9racer on May 06, 2007, 07:44:12 PM
I started using them at the end of last season.  Forgot to write down the front & rear psi. What do some of you set the pressures at? I'm on a Buell XB if that make a difference. Soft front, medium soft rear. Thanks and hope to see you this weekend at BHF.

Rear 22 psi.

Front, well, PR1 & 2 start at 32, and I believe that's similar to your front.  I went up to 34 and 35 immediately because I didn't like the feel.  The PRC is a better front in my opinion.  The PRC pressure is standard at 32 before date code 4206.  After date code 4206, 30psi.  Get a PRC at BFR if it's in your budget.

I was always told 28 rear and 30 in the front.

PRC @ 32 psi with a PR5 on the rear at around 22 psi. I'm with Rosno on trying to afford the PRC and go even a step further with a PR5 on the rear to replace the med/soft rear. Not sure what the PR5 translates into as far as soft/med/hard is concerned, but I know a C/5 combo on an RC51 last year was an incredible difference in times @ BFR for me and the durability is pretty decent too.

If you're going to BFR talk to Tom (michelin man) and get his input. I know he's got a buddy running a Buell and *may* have a better recommendation.
