Title: No spectator pricing at CMP
Post by: Sig on April 17, 2007, 11:34:51 AM
Why did spectators have to pay the $25 pass for the whole weekend with no option for one day?

pretty sure the gate fees are set by each track....many have a one day pass...others just have a flat fee for the entire event.

Gate Passes:
Fri.-Sun: $35 - In Conjunction with Cornerspeed School and Practice **Cash Only on Friday**
Sat.-Sun.: $25
Sunday only: $15

They could buy a Sunday only pass, but it doesnt look like they could buy a Saturday only pass. I know at HPT last year you could buy a Saturday only pass even tho it was not listed and unless you asked they sold you the all weekend pass. All tracks are different but maybe you would need to ask about it when buying your pass or call ahead.

yeah, i realize those are the rates but it just seems a bit excessive that somebody couldn't show up for a one day pass on saturday. I guess it's a track specific thing like people said.

What really sucks is that the spectators can't see squat at CMP.  Worst access to view the action of any track I've ever raced at.

yeah, about the only place to see anything is the front of the straight where you can see the slow section too.

maybe petition to get them to build a bridge so that spectators could cross the track?

If I'm not mistaken CMP is a no spectator track so anyone there is supposed to be "crew" or "rider". I guess they figure if you're working or riding on Sat. you will be on Sun. too.

Really hard to police one day tix at tracks that allow camping.  And CMP is definitely non-spectator.

I don't know if they did it for Sat, but the people that were there only Fri were able to get $20 back if they left at the end of the day by stopping at the gate and turning in their wristband.

We have that setup too for trackday type stuff, better than trying to clear a paddock at the end of the day and making life hard on everyone.

I think that was more for the people that were just there to do the cornerspeed track day

They charged me and my son $35 each when we arived Friday night about 7pm?  They were busy giving the track day people their money back and must not have been thinking about the fact that we we're just coming in.  I didn't realize what it was supposed to cost, so I just paid it.  I hope that CCS got the extra money and not the track folks.

How often is this the case?  Who gets the money from the gate fee?  I don't see why it's that hard to have a different color wristbands for a three day weekend.
