Title: Two quick newb ?'s
Post by: micjester on April 16, 2007, 03:39:09 PM
I'm getting things ready for Topeka and have a couple quick questions:
Is engine ice legal in CCS?
I have the original model TranX 260 but no mount.  Are mounts available for purchase at the track?

Thanks!!

Mounts are available at Registration for $5.00.  You will need to use CCS's transponders for timing/scoring, not anything from any other organization.

Doesn't CCS use AMB transponders?

not sure what type they use...but they issue new transponder every event, can't use one you already own...basically a rental for the weekend. included in cost of entry.

Does it differ based on the event?  Why does it ask for your transponder number on the pre-reg forms?

not sure of why  that question is there - i have ignored it successfully in my short yet boring career here- havent been able to score as i'd like, all systems seem go now- have fun stay safe,  :thumb:

If you talk real, real nice they might even give you a mount.

the GP region uses AMB's (run by Track Addix) and I think the LRRS uses something similar as well.

Actually Jason is right, it varies based on region, but the majority of the regions are not AMB.

It has the spot on the pre-reg form because that's the same form you will see again when you register and they hand you your transponder and then write the # on the form...

Just a little reminder about the transponders, they must be returned, at the end of your race weekend.
