It looks like we'll be traveling to Chi town this weekend....

Dawn 8)
Looks clean. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. You won't be too far away from K3 if you need a tune up, on either the car or seller!
Heh heh heh. I'll tune him up if he messes with my friends. Oh yeah....
Does it have full system, because if so, you are going to need your entire collection of pimp music as you drive it home.
That particular model of Merc seems to be VERY popular with Arab women in Chicago. Dawn, you might want to bring head scarves for yourself and Renee....
Too funny! :lmao:
Renee is in Texas so she will not be with us this weekend.
Dawn
Well? I'm afraid to ask. Are you the envy of your neighbors, or...?
Body wise, the car is perfect. It was purchased in LA on 10/12/1982, moved to AZ before it came to IL in 2001. The car does not have a speck of rust on it....
Then again it is a 25 year old car. It does need some suspension work because it can go into a tank slapper when you go over 65mph, the tranny slips between 2nd and 3rd, and the rear window can go off track. Darn good thing Paul's a mechanic.
We liked it so much we got his and her's models.....

(Renee's happy, we'll be selling the Buicks)
Renee has been in TX this past week and Paul just went to pick her up in the new Mercedes 300SD, but there's no plates on it yet. The phone rings...
"Mom, we're going to be a little late in getting home. We've just been pulled over by the police."
I TOLD him it wasn't a good idea.
Dawn :lmao:
Those WI cops are tough, but mostly on the out of state folks. DAMHIK :ahhh: I suppose Paul is out of the clink by now.
BTW, love the shifter on that second one.
Yep. No plates and no wallet.
Marion's finest just told him to get it registered and let him go.
Dawn :thumb:
So the trick for us out of staters is to hide our wallet and take off our plates......Did I leave anything out?
Fuggitabudit.
When they write tickets to us flatlanders for "Failure to sound horn when passing in a rural area", which is the only thing they could nail me on after an accident that was 100% the fault of the other local driver (backed up by the eyewitness of two others) you don't stand a snowball's chance in hell.
Cops is cops. Give 'em a gun and they think they have a...ah, don't get me started... :banghead:
LOL...
I remember that story, Don...
There are times that you just have to walk away. This was the case with car number two. ::)
Dawn
Glad you know when to fold 'em. I've bought a car through Ebay, but I definitely wanted to check it out first.
Know anybody who might be interested in buying one of these?

That's the rule at our house: Buy a vehicle, buy a repair manual....

Sorry to hear the 2nd car didn't work out. Did you have any trouble getting out from under the bid?
I've had good luck on eBay - bought a car, a pickup and a Ducati. No regrets on my part. Bought the car sight unseen from a couple in Houston. I must have done OK on the price - 6 weeks after I bought it for my youngest daughter she totalled it and the insurance settlement was for $2000 more than I paid for it!
We didn't have a problem getting out of it. There was so many things that were not right with that car. We did offer to purchase it for a lower price, but he said he said that he'll just relist it. It will be interesting to see if they disclose or actually fixed the things that it needed.
Overall, we've had good luck with E-bay and it hasn't stopped us from looking for another car.
