We got footage of two different crashes in the Horseshoe this weekend. One was a pretty nasty highside where the rider was flying thru the air, the other was a Ducati that lowsided in the wet saturday morning.
I can't remember the rider numbers, but if you read this and want to see your get off, let me know.
Post it up! or email to jeff@cbr600rr.com and I will.
alright, it might be a day or so. The videos are on my buddy's camera.
Was one during the Team Challenge race? Lap 10 or so? That was nasty with the bike flying over the tires. Rider was OK though.
Is one on the warm up lap of the combined HWT SB ex/am? Ex #99 got clipped and subsequently highsided (likely a tire change without pumping the front brake lever). Rider is pretty beat up. Nobody expects to get hit T1 on the out lap.
Info on that one would be appreciated if anyone witnessed it. Video would be even better.
The rider was pitted next to us on the #99 bike, someone hit his muffler, slid out the rear and caused the ensuing highside...his left collarbone was snapped in two...not an easy injury considering his age (+48 or so) and the fact that this was his first race back after his last race left his right collarbone shattered requiring a rod be installed...he and his wife helped out our MWT Racing team during the team challenge and are a class act, I wish him a speedy recovery and that the bonehead who nailed him on the warmup lap someday gets to feel his pain...what a dipshit!

+1
The video doesn't show the contact, just him entering the screen upside down in the air.
Nobody ever wishes ill will on another rider. After such a bonehead thing a simple, "man, I made a stupid mistake. I'm really sorry. I hope you heal quick" would be the stand up thing to do. Obviously it isn't always possible at the track with the hectic race schedule.
Ex #99 harbors no bad feelings. It's racing. We all screw up. You apologize, learn from the mistake and move on.
Someone can PM me and I will send the email address for the apology.

Hi, tell Larry (Im guessing there was only one Larry Karpinsky at Daytona?) im sorry I didnt get to talk with him after the MWSS race(or all weekend), we had a great battle and I just got lucky , I kept waiting for he and the 636 to draft back by in the trioval. I hope we get to do it again in October :thumb:.

Your right, I don't wish him ill, just wish he and others that go out on the track to "win" the warm up lap would use some common sense...there is no need to be close enough during a warm up lap, or have that little control, again on the warm up lap, to have any contact whatsoever...it just sucks that this stuff happens...racing is racing and stuff happens...but the warm up lap is NOT racing...
Larry K loved the battles he had with you #250...very clean (and fun to watch) racing! He will be following the Mid-Atlantic schedule this season and hopes to see you out there!
Thanks,
Dennis
