Congrats to the CCS racers from Daytona... Saw some local names way up in the finishes... Temme, Paul James, etc... Saw Jeff Purk on a Duc?!? what the hell?
Temme pulls off a win in F40. Good job man!
Hope you all had fun!

It was great to see some Midwest people there. My was sent crash testing my new Morse Racing bodywork. It was unreal how will it held up to the crashes. I would like to thank Rob and Ryan at Lithium for helping me to get ready for the weekend. Jason at Speed Tech for getting the bike to run awesome. Scott at Morse Racing for making the bike look and hold up better than anything I have ever seen before. I just wish that I had better finshes for them. See you all at Heartland Park and good luck for you guys that stayed to run the Daytona 200
I had a ball, seemed like i was there for weeks, then got home and said "damn that went by fast".. Had a bit of everything from rain and sun, and from crashes to leading races and almost winning races..

It was pretty entertaining listening to the race you were in when you crashed near the chicane. They really talked it up....'There goes melka with smoke coming off the rear, etc'
Not that you crashed of course, it was just a good race!!
amazingly there was little damage. My leathers got pretty scuffed up sliding up toward the air fence but the bike was fine and good enough to lead the ASRA sportbike race till the shift rod came off, think that was broke loose from the crash in the chicane. I just gave it way to much gas leaned over exiting the chicane..stepped WAYY out and i remember being up over the windscreen looking at the front tire..
had a blast there.. it went by too fast though... my first race on the '06 zx-10r... WOW! 1:58 was my best.. could have been better, but new track and new bike... left with a big smile! and that's all that matters!

that's exactly how I remember my crash
I expected to ne mid-pack of the LW F40 but to my surprise ended up second. Those Ducati 1000s are fast especially for a lightweight bike. I got the courage to draft on the banking and made some sweet passes coming off the banking. I realized some strategy and now I know that it isn't all about just WOT. Running down that banking really works.
This old FZR is a runner on that Daytona track. Runs as well as the Ducati but won't keep up with the BMW. That old F2 of Helmbach was going pretty good too.
Turned 1:56 in the F40 race and slowed to a 1:58 for the Thunderbikes.
Way cool stuff.
