Title: sv gearing for Daytona
Post by: oteps on February 24, 2007, 05:30:00 PM
I have never been to Daytona before, we will be running a 2006 sv650 in the moto-st race.  Anyone have any ideas on gearing.  Thanks

At Road America a 16-44 works great for me. At the end of the longest straight I am about 1500 below red line. Full on the gas up the hill I cross the start finish line (or around there) I shift into 6th gear. I let EM Jay use that gearing at Daytona and he said it worked pretty good. You mite want to play with a 45 on the back but having the 16 tooth front does the trick for long high speed tracks on a SV. Don't forget to fold the retainer washer over one side of the front sprocket nut.  :boink:
