Title: Contingency requirements
Post by: Eric Kelcher on February 20, 2007, 06:28:40 PM
Well I have just finished processing contingency for the first races of the year and ran into a problem repeatedly. Most contingency requirements include that they be listed as a sponsor for the racer to recieve payment. I will not "out" anyone here but there were several long time racers that know better. I sent letters to those that were affected but want the rest of you to know that it is something that must be done if you want to receive contingency and those riders had/have put at risk receiving their monies for the weekends' races.

Sponsor forms must be turned into registration by 9am the day of your races to be included in that day's results. Also you do not need to turn in a new listing each weekend (it just slows the wheels down to verify that all of last weekend's sponsors are the same this weekend) as the listing remains for the whole year unless you ask for a change. If you turn the form in at tech it will get updated, but it will be for the next weekend's races.

Is there a limit to the number of characters on the sponsor list? If so, what is the limit? That can sometimes cause problems on getting all of them listed.

Yes there is a max field of 200 characters (thus the reason I avoid using spaces in the sponsor field and use , instead).

Let me see if i understand this. I need to turn in a sponsor list at the first race of the year and if my sponsors don't change i will not need to turn in a sponsor list for the rest of the year.

First year racing and just trying to understand.  :thumb: Thanks

Yes Warrant that is correct; the sponsor list is attached to the license in the computer and those all expire on Jan 1 of each year. So each year is fresh start with (possibly) new competition number and new sponsor listing.

I would like to make a friendly amendment that the field of characters be extended to 300, unless the competitor has started to thank " My dog, the garbageman..."

Also, I had some sponsorship/contingency changes last year, made the changes and submitted them to Reg. before 9AM on race weekends, and the changes were not made. Who do we contact in Ft. Worth for absolute follow through? Eric, Ryan, or Kevin?

The character lmit is not something that can be changed in the existing program. We have about 3-5 people a year that bump up against the current limit. We are working on the development of a new race day program that will not have a limit.

I am the one that handles all the data entry of licenses and sponsors. If you will give me a call after the 13th of March(I am out of the office for the Daytona races until then) I can pull your 2006 sponsor update info from your file.

How do I get a Sponsor Form.
The only form I filled out that actually had sponsor names was the Contingency claim form I
turned in at Tech.

I pre-entered and I didnt see any forms at registration.

Is this Form Available online?

Homestead was my first race so I was clueless how things worked but it was smooth
besides for not filling out this Sponsor Form.

Eric (or others) -

Do you have a human contact at Pirelli for contingency issues?

I'm unable to either "search payouts" or "post results" for CCS amateur races at Pirelli's contingency site.   I do see expert races, as well as both expert and novice WERA events.

I've sent a couple emails over the last 2-3 weeks to 'contingency@pirelli.com' without any reply.

thanks -

Well i contacted them on your behalf but was not able to get much resolved as i don't know your name or email. I was told to  have you resend your issue to the Contingency email address., if yu are still having problems.

I do not know how their system works exactly as I am not currently racing so I have not earned any contingency to be able to use any of the contignecy sponsor payout programs.
