Depends RS250 Honda or Aprilia?
For Honda Lt GP, MW GP, UL Gp, Sportbike GTU, GTO
For Aprilia MW Sportsman, Thunderbike, GTlights All SS and SB classes, in addtion to the Honda eligible classes except Sportbike

The Aprilia RS250 actually doesn't fall under the purpose built race bikes(Honda RS, Yamaha TZ, Aprilia RSV) since it's a street bike in other countries so you can run it in GTLights and LWSB.

Maybe I should go read the rules again :)

yeah that's the new class everything under the sun is allowed, in a small tight track you can benefit by running a smal bike but in a open track well, you simply get killed!! ;D

Thunderbike:

Although I have heard and read different statements related to a 3.5 lbs/hp limit (whether it's in or out), I think a regular Ap RS250 would be hard pressed trying to win a thunderbike race.

Here's some numbers:
340 lbs SV = 97 hp
410 lbs Buell or old F2 = 117 hp

Whatever handling advantage you may have over a stock SV or Buell is easily over shadowed by the lack of thrust and top end speed/power.

You could increase your chances by overboring, but then you've got to watch your motor for reliability issues, but it does help.

Speaking from experience (and being a heavy, mid-to-front of the pack racer), riding in the MW Sportsman class will be the most fun and the most rewarding riding a stock Ap RS250.  Hey if you're physically light weight, and you keep the bike tuned well, who know.

Good Luck
