Good day,
A buddy of mine from overseas is a four time national champ in his domestic pro series, winning both Superbike and Supersport in 2006. He came to Daytona last year and really opened some eyes on the 600's. :ahhh:
He has been in contact with me frequently in the off season and is very interested in coming over for the CCS and AMA Daytona weeks, but is looking for a competitive team/bike to ride for the Supersport and/or FX. He can't bring much in $$, but he will get the bike and team some positive attention.
Email me offlist if you have something that may work, or if you know of a team or bike that may be available. He won last year on all 4 cyl makes.
We'll chat more!
Dr. Dave

Dave, I don't want to say that your request is impossible, but a couple of things are problematic.
1. Nobody knows you (or at least you're a guy with only 2 posts here)
2. You haven't named this mystery "eye-opener" rider
3. Coming in without money
If you were talking about a Xaus, Charpentier, Bayliss, etc, then yes they could likely fly in and get support of a large team for the publicity.
Outside of that, you're asking an awful lot...
Dr Dave Boll works with a few AMA riders, and he is part of the Safety First Racing program.
The rider is well recognized, and he'd be on a lot of very short lists.
Talk to Dave if you have questions.
Well, hell! He should be tapping on Mr. Hansen's door then I'd guess...
I guess it's just that I don't know that Dave's going about this right. For instance, if I was going to daytona and offered up my bike to him, would it even make sense for him to ride it? If he's a professional caliber rider who could contend for a championship at the 200, my bike wouldn't put him there. He would need hardware (and the support team) which is capable of such a feat. Those are things that really need to be gained over the phone or on a pointed, personal basis. Not a club-forum.
Please understand, I'm overall TRYING TO HELP here. I'm not knocking anyone, just trying to point you in the best direction I can...
They don't have the extra resources for anyone over Scotty and Bobby.
I know its a big request, but I was just putting the feelers out there. You never know!
The rider is Alastair Seeley, multiple Irish Superbike and Supersport Champion. http://www.alastairseeleyracing.co.uk/
He finished in the top ten at Daytona on two year old equipment last year. He went to many of the east coast AMA races and did very well for the first time seeing the tracks. He really wants to do some racing here in the states and is also trying to put together a deal for the AMA rounds that do not conflict with his domestic racing. For Daytona, he, Ryan Farquar and William Dunlop along with Michael Pearson, are planning on coming over. Daytona seem to be on the radar now again from the UK with John McGuinness and Alastair, and now Farquar, tackling it.
He has been signed by Neal Haslam's NCT racing in British Superstock this year riding on factory supported R1's.
I have been in contact with all my personal resources, to include one Mr. Super Dave, who as always goes above and beyond and he gave me some great additional ideas on contacts. I was just hoping to see if a smaller team that was going to be there had a spare bike, even a year old machine or so, that they may consider leasing for the event.
As we all know, seats are very hard to come by this upcoming year. Ask a Mr. Hodgeson who is looking at brick laying this summer............
Dr. Dave
Good info Dr. Dave...
I recall reading many articles and accomplishments of Alastair last year.
Hopefully this might get him a bit more exposure for a ride... If I can also suggest, you should update your post on the WERA forum with this info too...

Hey Doc, contact John Ulrich at RRW...
That was probably the second or third call...
Ok, we may have a stock Yamaha for Alastair to run. Now, all thats necessary is getting the bike from Burlington Yamaha in NC to Daytona and find a crew!
Anyone running through that area on the way down to Daytona with room for a bike and anyone there willing to take another bike under the canopy and/or lease a crew person??
Thanks to Stephen Cotter at Burlington Yamaha, an Irish gentleman with a huge passion for racing willing to help out another Irish racer here in the states. If your in his area, do yourself a favor and check out the shop. :thumb:

Anyone else need some sponsorship....I think I'll sponsor all of the midwest guys....free bikes for whoever comes by the shop first.
It would be nice if it was this easy.....daytona is just freakin hard on equipment.
Racin' is just a good way to make a small fortune...
Out of a large one.
Too bad non of us had one of those...LOL!
Where's that Reno guy, Kevin? Prolly livin' it up with a race team annonymously in Latin America in a little bungalo.
Not that I know if they'd be able to help, but have you contacted Celtic Racing? They sure are well organised and professional. Seems like an obvious fit....
They are all full with their support ability.
