Title: solo challenge contigency
Post by: zeroice on December 19, 2006, 03:27:59 PM
So who pays out contigency for the solo challenge class?
tires (pirelli/dunlop/michellin)?
brakes (EBC/vesrah)?
components (vortex)?
lubricants (silkolene)?

would appreciate any input!

Last year Dunlop, Pirelli, Powerstands and Vanson was it.  Though it was pretty much irrelevant because the grids weren't big enough, even in the team classes.

Unfortunately CCS won't send in the results to the contingency providers if the grids are too small even though many of them will pay anyway if they get the results, based on my experience with WERA.

Pirelli was good with contingency for me.  They paid me for my wins in the final two LW races at VIR, it wasn't the full value though.  Only 6 of us showed up for those races.  I didn't bother with the form for the Solo Challenge contingency knowing how small the grids were, Pirelli may have actually paid me.  :banghead:

Pirelli is one in particular that has always paid regardless of grid size in the past as long as they get the results.

thats what i'd like to hear! That little bit of tire money makes a huge difference.

I really want to do a full season of the solo challenge. I really like the extended seat time; it allows me to take advantage of endurance training. And also my budget is tight, so i cant spend the big bucks that are needed for the sprint races.

appreciate the help fellow brothers

Yup, they will pay, at least Pirelli will.  The $300 for first in the TC really helps for the next round

Are you speaking of the Team challenge or solo challenge? Lets not get the two mixed up!

I think at VIR and Summit the Solo class was the biggest one
