anybody else get this, I have and Item on sale in the classifieds here and on superbike planet, I get an email from some guy called lawrence mann who is in Ireland he wants to buy item. he sends a second email stating he will pay by cashiers check, but he has a client in the US who owes him $1900, he will send me a check for $1900, I take out what is owed to me plus $100.00 then send him the balance. what's wrong with this picture?
counterfit money order...
or if you wire the money outside the country you'll never get it back....
it's a total scam...
We had a horse for sale online, the lady sent us a money order for double what we were asking for the horse (sight unseen). Asked that when the horse transport arives to give them the horse and 1000.00 to pay for the shipment...
I went online and found the bank that the cashiers check was drawn on and called them. They advised that the check was counterfeit and had been stolen from them several months earlier. I was advised to contact the US Secret Service (since they handle that stuff) and turned everything over to them.
<sigh> :preachon: Ok folks, if it looks like a scam, smells like a scam and tastes like a scam. It's a scam.
Thank you for your time.
