Another noob question I have.
I need to get a generator to run my tire warmers.
Anyone have a good brand/size to recommend?
Good place to by from?
New/used?
I'm just looking at running a set of tire warmers that's it.
Have been reading up that the more quiet one are more money.

buy new. a Honda EU-2000 is preferred but they're in the $800 range.
Something small/efficient/quiet is best. Those aren't readily found at home depot.

i picked mine up at lowes.
it's loud as hell but i try to shut it down at night. depending on how i feel about the dude beside me.
but make sure it has enough to cover what your tire warmers require and then some. you will find once you have it, you start using lots more stuff at the track.
+1 on the EU2000 I bought a cheaper loud one and now regret it. Not to mention you can put two EUs together and they act as one big one to power an AC unit for example.
+1 Honda EU2000 here as well. I first went with a cheapy at Lowes but after starting it my driveway I thought an airplane was taking off so I took it back and got the very quiet EU2000 and have been very happy with it
+1 Honda EU2000. Went with a cheap Coleman from Home Depot first (still have it as back up) and the thing is loud (and at the track you or your neighbor are going to listen to it ALL DAY), plus I've had to have the motor rebuilt twice now (so it's almost cost me as much as what a Honda would have cost).
Then Dad picked up a EU2000 - it's so quiet I can have it under the canopies (like when it rains) and hold a normal conversation no prob. It's also a Honda so change the oil when necessary and let it run. Also has a low oil sensor and will shut down if to low. Nice piece, after having this Honda I'll never go the cheap route on a generator again.
I got a 5000 watt generator and it comes on wheels from Home Depot. It has a Subaru motor and is pretty quiet. $699 if I remember right. It will run my camper with AC, the electric, microwave. Plenty of power

Sean, I think your perception of "pretty quiet" may differ from those within 100 yards of your genset... Just my opinion...
To go a bit further on construction generators though... There are people who have construction gennys who build noise reducing 'boxes' around them, and then roll them 100' away from their pit. At that point, they are quiet and tolerable for that person. However, anyone that it's point towards is getting a blasting...
you can make a nice ply wood box and line the inside with fom. that will quiet it down a ton.
i don't mean to be rude with my big noise maker, i just don't see the point in kicking out all the extra money to have a quiet gen. if people on either side of me will be using a loud one.
I have 2 honda 2000's that I use in parallel. I can run my entire Toy hauler and 2 sets of warmers off of them...Or I can run 4 sets of tire warmers, or, etc...
They were super nice in Yellowstone last year, when you either have a quite genny, or you do not run one... 8)
The only issue with the 2000's is the super small tank they have. I purchased an external gas tank for them, that allows me to run them at close to 100% load for about 12-16 hours between fill ups...It has a hose that connects to each genny and they siphon the fuel from the external 5 gallon jug thingy...
