Pet-peeves....we all got them :D
Mine is when guys are tracking straight towards a corner, then decide to change entry position when they get there.
Example: Maybe heading for a left hander w/ 3 feet or so on their right.... right when (or as) they are breaking/setting-up, they decide to move/swerve over to the edge....wtf ???
I've been pinched/pushed off more times than I can count, by people changing lines on entrance/braking, when I am trying to squeeze by on the outside and make a clean pass.
Not intentional I know, they never even see me or know I am there :)
But still, how about putting the bike where it needs to be while you are heading down the straights?
I know the guy w/ the front wheel has the line, but if you need to be at the edge of the track on entrance how about doing it before you get there? ...There just might be someone coming up behind you seeing it as 'unused' space and then committing themselves. Anyway, that's my gripe :P
I am sure I am doing plenty of stuff out there that some people can't stand either ;D
What are some gripes/peeves of you guys? ...maybe it will get some of us to think about what we are doing and how it affects our fellow racers a little bit more.
Whatcha got?
i hate when someone dumps oil on the track !!!
hey, wrench correctly, or stay off the track (ike)

LOL....!!!!!
I won't say why... But I sure thought that was funny.
Dawn ;)

Or we could all race 2-strokes! ;D
At BHF when people come out of turn 7 and cut across the track to pit-in..
or
When people come out of turn 7 and crank a wheelie while drifting across the track. Not very kind to those of us with our heads down, interested in actually running a practice...
They say "fine 'em", I say "kick 'em in the balls". You start lining folks up during the riders meeting and wedging a sz 12 Sidi toe right into that perineal area whilst the shin bounces off the 'boys', and that crap would stop abruptly...
Plus, I bet that would draw a crowd big enough to drop our entry fees :D

Jeff:
Didn't you say that in a riders meeting once? If not, someone did. The look on Bill's face was priceless.
Dawn :)
Yeah, that was me... It seemed to have a better effect than the groans and chants of "fine 'em"... ;D

Jeff, do I drift across the track when I ride those wheelies? Sorry. ;)
Turn seven..............Yes...
Guys that look back then move for you....
Proceeding to move in the exact place that you were gonig to go around them.
Race tracks and racing organizations that play with my schedule....(Don't get me started today.)
People that snag my pit spot.
People that walk down the pit road (almost always spectators) RIGHT in the MIDDLE of the road. They see you coming, and don't bother to MOVE.. regardless if I'm trying to get to the grid, trying to get back to the pits, or trying to back my truck out of my pit spot.
People that find the ONE tree, near my pit spot, and proceed to park all their cars under the tree (trailer, mom's minivan, friends cars, junior's pedal car and 20" BMX bike, etc.)... and then set up what might as well be a 10-million square foot tent for mom, dad, grandpa, grandma, the kids, the grandkids, using every last inch of the shade... when they could've set the tent up in the sun (creating their own shade) and parked their arsenal of cars down the road a bit, thus allowing some of those less fortunate, tent-less people, some natural shade to hide behind when its 98 degrees outside.
Hey.. can you guys go pit somewhere else? You're in my spot... I've been pitting here since 2000. ::)
Jim - get there on Thursday and take your choice of other people's pit spots.... ;)
Organizations that wont take your phone call, organizations that wont return a phone call, organizations that wont answer an e-mail, organizations that wont answer a second e-mail, organizations that wont answer a third e-mail...., an organization full of people that continually do this, time and time again for years.
Maybe it's in the Employee Handbook, I don't know, but its discouraging to say the least. I've dealt with big companies, CEOs, Presidents, CTOs, on a daily basis, and never have I seen this before. It makes it difficult when all you want to do is help, but perhaps I'm receiving the message loud and clear--silence.

Don't do it! I almost got beat up and my lunch money taken from me when I pitted in the wrong spot. :'(

I was the guy who got the No_wheelie/stuntz policy at gateway in 2002 :-/
Dave Adams/MCRA says "No stoppies, highchairs, or stuntz" Good thing he ain't wearing no size 12 boot ;D ::)
I hear you Jack.
I've called multiple times and left multiple emails to just plain old silence. It's kind of hard to make plans to race AMA when they won't convert your points so you actually get your superbike license! :-/
hehe... Dave is a good guy. I ripped him up one side and down the other for starting a race without making a 3rd call. Actually, after I left I had to call and apologize because I called his mom some pretty bad names.
Yeah Bill Hitchthigy... Yuk it up... It's an easy thing to do on a 750 :D

Holy Sh*t!!! I was the guy in the white/purple leathers standing there...saw the whole thing :o
I actually won the race that you were screaming at him about ;D 8) ;D
Yeah, Daves super cool....he just don't dig my StuNNa sKillZ ;)

Brrr....I want to think about riding on the ice, not this Jack...
(Must think positive, must hope. must be calm...)

Yeah, me too. Just got off the phone with Robs, they've got a few new XRs. I really should spend some of the R1 money before it gets absorbed into the collective. :(
Having the onbike race video of me disappear cause the person doing the taping keeps crashing. :'( ;D

Did you fix your camera?
Hey, I've got a new computer and a cable modem. Is that something you can send online???
QuoteHey, I've got a new computer and a cable modem. Is that something you can send online???
I accept Paypal and credit cards SuCKa :P
Told you I would give you a copy when I get my camera fixed Ding Dong :D not a minute before ;)
But you said...
Like I said, I have pix everyone who has been to Gateway's Friday practice, and will be putting pix of everyone up as soon as I get my camcorder fixed...so expect to see yourself up here soon.
Everyone except KC124 that is, I lost all of your footage..sorry dude
You sumb!tch. ;D
Let me know know how much to make the check out for. ;D
People who let their kids run amuck right trough your pit.
People who bitch about the cornerworkers who dont throw the red flag fast enough for their tastes. Unless you've cornerworked, STFU at the track. Got a complaint, talk with the tower. Sorry, but it really irks me.
People who steal from racers.
Spectators who cant stay behind the fence in turn 5 at BHF's.
Repeat White line violators. Simple rule, easy to follow. Not that hard to comprehend. ::)
My only peeve is not knowing any scheduling information ahead of time. the first race is a week away and we have no idea what races will be Sat or Sun and most of my Western region USGPRU races are still TBD...
QuotePeople who ... about the cornerworkers who dont throw the red flag fast enough for their tastes.
What gets me is are the spectators who call for a red flag as soon as they see a rider biff it.
How about the riders who do not know the difference between a black flag and a debris flag wave-off?
What bothers me the most is the vague use of the rain flag. On one weekend it will be used for any sprinkle, and the next it won't be used until a down pour happens. Or any other inconsistant combination. I've seen it happen at BHF too often that riders crash because of this.

I can not say too much because then K3 will seek me out and crash again. :-X What I can say is that I am a college friend of Grover. I have worked with you at least one time at BHF last season.
Oooh! Oooh! I know who you are :D

HEhe. See you April 4-5.:D:D
Will be doing the cornerworking/racing thing again.;D
