Title: Gingerman?
Post by: George_Linhart on September 28, 2006, 10:33:15 PM
I am scrambling to obtain the parts to repair my Ducati.  I might actually be able to make it to Gingerman with a bit of luck.  Can anybody give me some pointers on gearing (relative to BHF), what to expect and perhaps where I can find some useful videos from the track to try and figure out reference points?

Just how bad is the surface there?

Any information you can give me would be great!

Thanks,

George

Google is your friend and I haven't even been there before! :D
I can't give you points on gearing sorry.

Gingerman is a little shorter gearing than Blackhawk. I use the same gearing on my Hawk at both tracks but could go +1 in the back. The surface is good except for 2 grooves that run all the way around the track and the grip is very good, kind of hard on tires though. There are some large smooth dips in a couple corners though. Get up there for Saturday, as I recall the LP Sportider day is $70 and you get 5 practice sessions.

I run the same gearing as BHF on my 600rr.  Surface traction is good.  A bit bumpy, but you can dial it out if you understand how suspension works.  The seams seem to bother some people.  I don't really mind them.
