Title: Looking For Moto-ST or Team Challenge Ride at Daytona
Post by: onedwn5up on September 28, 2006, 01:15:01 PM
My name is Eric Sampson. I am the class AM Champion in 4 NE CCS/LRRS classes and will be tying up another 3 next weekend for a total of 7 class titles this year. I have over 30 wins this season alone. Many times I have  caught and beat a good portion of the experts in the 1st wave.

I am entered in 9 races at Daytona for the ROC next month. However, I would really like to part of an endurance team. I had planned on putting together a team and just got caught up working on my own stuff and my business.

I am a solid competitor and I am sure I will be able to turn good lap times for my leg of the race. I have excellent endurance and stamina. I will be there doing the Team Hammer school the day prior, so I will already be acclimated to the track before climbing aboard the team bike.

I am willing to pay my share of disposable items such as tires and fuel. If you have any questions please feel free to email me at eric@teamsampsonracing.com

You can also see all of my race results and some pictures and video by visiting www.myspace.com/roadracerx

I must have missed that part.

The time of the event will make my entry difficult then unless they allow me based upon an appeal. I'm not going to go and change my status and get sent to the back of the expert grid when I am on the front of the am one already. I am eligible for my expert status license.

Judging by your screenname, im assuming you run std shift. You may want to try out the GP shift, seeing that the majority of road racers use it, especially at the fast national level. And it doesnt get much worse than haveing to switch the shift pattern during a pit stop. , unless of course you forget to switch it :ahhh:

There are lot's of teams using standard shift.
The Moto-St BBS is up, so you might want to join, and start a thread. I just started today, so not much is going on.
I'll have 2 Kawi 650s for sale, after the race. So you can start your own team for next year.

lol. I actually gave up standard shift in Feb when I bought a bike with a quickshifter setup that was already in the gp position. I run gp shift on all my bikes now, but the screen name goes back a ways for me. Plus, 1up5dwn doesn't have the same ring to it. GP shifting is way easier but I can still use both.

Dafan, if you are serious, let me know. The entry fee for moto-st is rather large, but the bigger issue is having a bike that will go the distance and more than one set of wheels.

I can even provide pit crew support. We just need the bike.

I think Chris Chase was able to get permission to race in the MotoST based on his results even though he is a yellow plate, so you should be able to get in.

(Of course he is quite the sandbagger...:))

Yeah, that was not a hard as getting a team together to race, or the money to enter. All my plans have turned to sh!t. I use standard shift , but have a quick change to GP.

(Rich, don't be jealous of my sweet Hyosung by calling me names)

Hmmmmm, should I pull out some of Dueser's excuses?

Out of VP
Wrong gearing
Dude has 20K in that thing, let me see you beat him!
Tires went bad
Chase is a sandbagger....
