Greatings friends! I'm glad most of you figured out how to enter and exit turn one Saturday! I was ready to start charging for parking! Maybe I will next year and donate it to an injured racer fund or something. I was glad to see such a huge turn out. VIR is my fav. track to work at and camp during the weekend.
On Sunday I had a different vantage point at turn 21 midway at the hill top. am 836 saw a full moon that day! :ass:. :lmao:
The team challange race was awesome. I hope those competing in the MOTO ST got a good warmup this weekend. I pick Nate's team to win. Though I don't remember all the winners I feel all of you are winners anyway. The racing as always was great. Many races featured some very close competition.
I wish all of you the best of luck at the ROC and those that did not escape injury get well soon and I hope to see you out there next year.

Were you in T1 during the GTU on Saturday? I was the guy that was bumped off during the start at T1. I sat in the gazebo for the entire 25 minutes while the race went on.
Anyway, if it was you, thanks for the cold drink! It made the wait a little more bearable.
Yes it was! Always glad to offer a cold one. I know I was hot that day. I can inagine what you racers go through. Take it easy! When in doubt blame the bike! Are you the one that said you got bumped off?
Yep, that was we. Someone on a green bike (not sure what number but have an idea) stood their bike up mid-turn and forced me to make a decision, either t-bone him or go off in the grass. I chose the later and paid a small price. I just wish I could have gotten an apology as I know he saw me go down. Oh well, that's racing I guess.
Thanks for your hard work this season. We wouldn't be out there racing without you guys!

Where were you pitted?
Middle row right near the timing tower and the tech shed. There was a red Ducati 999 pitted with me under my EZ-UP. We were about 30 feet from the corner where you make a left to go to pit-out.
My leathers are Kobe X-Pro, blue, grey and black with yellow letters.
Its a shame that no one fessed up to that. On another accident in turn 1 Sat. two riders got in a nasty crash. One caused the other to crash it was am 83? Instead of trying to re-enter the race he saw the ex (can't recall the # was still down he ran over to check on him instead. He and my fellow conerworker helped him up and he stood there holding this injured rider untill he got his bearings. It was a kodak moment :thumb:. It sure scared #83. It moments like this that should make us content competing and working for CCS. Hopefully nothing like your accident happens again. We all know that the track is only so wide. Sometimes things are unavoidable. Other times they are not. I saw 12 examples of accidents there on Saturday. It was crazy. Every one was uniqe in its' nature. My flagging hand had blistered! :ahhh:

hey! Thank you for all the hard work. Without you guys we wouldn't be able to have so much fun!
You wouldn't give me or my team a chance in endurance racing? :wah: I just need to find someone who likes to ride as long as I do. You may have seen my only mistake in the entire 2 hours when I locked up my front and bottomed out my forks and planted my face in my triple on top of the hill... :ahhh:
I didn't know I was on the lead lap chasing around 2nd overall (My only goal was to win the solo), or I would have tried a bit harder and maybe came in first overall  that would have been sweet!
Like I say if I can't go faster than then, ride longer! 8)

TC podium, Kevin's camera was more important though lol

TC overall 1st (Moon cycle II #1), 2nd (Team All-Stars #30), 3rd(me #188) about to catch and lap 6th overall (Steel City Racing #707), this is a great shot, I never knew we were so close

Here is us racing together again, although #1 has put some distance on us.
What you can't see is my hair/braid strangling me all race long because it got caught on the zipper of the leather somehow. It was my stealth tactic though because people usually recognize me from my hair and this time they saw nothing!
I will tell my wife Dafan about the hair thing. :D

I forgot to thank her about it after the race. sorry :D
It was just a very weird incident, I had never had that happen. I think I zipped up with haste onthe restart and got some caught, and my little attempts of trying to free it didn't quite work out so I just let it go. It was caught on the left side so it was worse turning left but thankfully most turns go right. it still worked out fine though lol. I will get cornrows again like usual next time... didn't have enough time this weend cuz we left a day early.
You need to cut it. :D Or is it your power?

I remember seeing that! Hey I give all ya'll credit esp. you solo folks. That was a long time in the saddle. I hope all CCS/ASRA folks that will compete do a domination in the MOTO ST. I only wish I could be there to work the event. Seems I never have the money to travel that far to Daytona. R6 those were some awesome photos! Turn 4 is one of my favorite turns to work at VIR.
Congrats on your finish! I'm glad the rain held off long enough to get that one in. It would have gotten ugly really fast had the rain came sooner.
it was the most fun I have ever had on a bike though. I got to seriously race with 4-5 people, more than 3 laps at a time, all in the same race! it was great.
The rain did hold off just in time for us to finish the race. It sprinkled after the restart as a debris flag was displayed, but me and Arnold Hastings didn't miss a beat. I think we figured that it was a great time to gap whoever thats behind. We went faster as a matter of fact. Slow a little for the turn 4 patch, but went faster elsewhere. It stopped after 2 laps, but I think we gapped the rest of the field a good 4-5 seconds!
VIR is one of the most beautiful tracks. I still think Barber is a tab more, but VIR is awesome in its own right. It made racing so long so enjoyable, the scenery is just amazing.
Just ask the ASRA Superbike racers about that turn 4 patch in the wet. At the Nationals at VIR I was on turn 4 and on the very first lap they all came and most about 5 of them went off :wtf:. Actually they didn't grind and reseal that inside area untill before the AMA event. It was still very slick when wet.
VIR ranks right up there with the best in the country. Bike #1 seemed to run consistant lap times which was very fast I thought for an endurance race. I guess thats why he won the championship again this year. You all did very well. I had one guy in turn21 not finish and I believe it was on the final 5 or 10 laps. It took us forever to find his lost transponder! :banghead: At least he was ok and his bike was not real damaged by the low side.
I couldn't really keep up with #1 with the pace they are running. I was really trying to pace myself. actually a bit too much because I wasn't really tired at all at the end. But they are on a 1000 which means they had to pit an extra time thats how we all ended up on the same lap at the end.
The guy who crashed in 21 was the 2nd place in solo. He was about 1:20 down on me I say (I could see him in front of me which will put him one lap down) and when I came around to see him on the ground I slowed way down and let #30 (the 2nd place bike) go because I know I got it in the bag by over a lap. It was a huge shame for him because he was so close and had a huge lead on then third place. I talked to him for a while after the race too. I wish him better luck next time.
I know all about the patch in 4 because thats why we were sitting on the grid for 15 minutes during the AMA Supersport race. AMA had decided not to race in the rain because of the patch and how slick it was. Which worked out for me because I had no spare rims nor rain tires :D I almost ran the same pace during these 61 laps than I did during the AMA Supersport race, I was quite happy with that. Now I can ride long, I need to ride faster lol
Thank you and all the corner workers who seemed to work very hard this weekend. Hope you all have a great winter and see you all again in the spring!
BTW what happened in the last race of the day when I saw 2 ambulances going over to turn 4-5 area. I hope everyone was ok.
One of the Marine Captains I wsa pitted with got tangled with a backmarker. We think he may have dislocated his shoulder but the bike had minor damage. That was his second crash of the weekend!!! Crazy thing is he flies Harrier Jets. Gov't doesn't like spending money on these pilots when they get hurt.

Just how many times do you guys have to pit in a race like this? I didn't hear much about pit actions on the radio. Do you just need fuel or both fuel and tires? I hope the do more t.c. races during Sat. or Sunday events instead of Fridays like they used to.
I only planned to pit once. I think I cuold have done 34 laps each and end up just about to run out of fuel. The 1000 however would have to pit twice. Once full fuel and once a splash. The red flag ate up 15 minutes which made the restart just about half way, so I didn't have to pit again, while the #1 1000 had to pit one more time.
I would have liked it to be a little longer :D
I was one of the guys down in one that weekend and just want to say thanks to all of you guys and gals who stand out there all day and work those corners so we can race
