Title: Important information about Track Addix Hastings Race
Post by: Jack_Brock on September 12, 2006, 12:12:16 PM
I will be there

Ha! On a more serious note, I just got off the phone with Dean, and sounds like it is going to be huge!  Do not miss it!

I tried to find a room, and the best pricing online I could find was $75 for the Comfort Inn or $85 for the Holiday Inn.  I called and spoke to Liz Davis with Holiday Inn at 888-905-1200 and told her I was coming up to do the race, and the price went down to $59.99 a night.  Smokin deal, so I thought I'd pass it along.  See you all there!!!!

Awesome!  I spoke to a couple guys that went up there for the MRA event this past weekend and they were raving about the track!  I was pumped up to hit it before, but now I am really salivating.  I also heard there will be $1,000 up for grabs for the person to set the lap record.  I beleive its a 1:29.xx now by Shane Turpin so I hope some guys from our club head out there to collect the money!  Unfortunately I don't think I will be any where near that cash lol!

Also, they do have shower facilities on site so I will probably just camp there.  Should be cooler weather-perfect for camping under the stars!

I heard that there is a billboard in town welcoming the TrackAddix CCS GP race, inviting spectators to come out and watch. Friday the local Budweiser distributor is having a welcome event (sorry no PBR for TSR), some talk of the Clydesdales possibly being there (no Timmay, that's not code for one of my recent dates). The MRA racers had a lot of great things to say about the track and the town including the large local spectator turn out they had, I am looking forward to racing on it. I'd like to see one of our own take the $1000 for the lap record. Dean said Turpin is going to be there going for it, but my money is on Matt Hall!!

That is awesome!  Sounds like there is at least some promotional stuff going on.  I'd be interested to see what the attendance is there compared to other tracks.

Good luck to everyone going.

Here is the TrackAddix email for those of you who are interested and not on the list-

Motorsport Park Hastings is open for business!
Hastings hosted its first motorcycle racing event this past weekend when the Colorado based Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA) brought round #7 of their series to this exciting new facility. MRA members were thoroughly impressed by the track layout, safety, and hospitality of the facility- http://forums.mra-racing.org/viewtopic.php?t=2782

Even if you can't ride like a superstar, the people of Hastings will make you feel like one. One of the comments made by several of the MRA racers last weekend was that they were treated like celebrities by the town.
Beg, borrow, steal, sell your blood, charge it to your VISA "sponsor", but whatever you do, DO NOT MISS this round at MPH. Lets get a huge turnout with full starting grids and give Hastings some great roadracing action!

Budweiser Clydesdales to attend!
On Friday, September 22nd Budweiser will be attending with the Clydesdales from 3 - 6 pm. The team will be on display and most likely will make a lap through the hot pit area. There will be a beer garden set up and food available. We expect at least 2000 spectators to attend this event.

Spectators at a club race? Yea that's right! We anticipate a huge number of spectators and news media coverage surrounding this entire event. Many spectators from Friday will come back on Sunday to watch you race. Arrive Thursday night or early on Friday to get set up and have your pit ready. When you see spectators walking by your pit, make the effort to say hello, talk to them and promote the races on Sunday. Answer their questions and educate them about your sport. You will make quite an impression by the mere fact that you took the time to talk to them. Remember, to these people you are a superstar. Invite children to sit on your bike and expect to be asked for your autograph.

FREE practice on Friday
With all the hype surrounding this event we are offering all licensed racers FREE practice on Friday afternoon from 3 pm until 7 pm. You must possess a current racing license to attend this practice. The format will be open session with the track being closed periodically to accommodate the Budweiser Clydesdale activities.

Honoring ALL race licenses
In order to attract as many racers as possible to this event, we will be honoring ALL race licenses from CCS recognized organizations. There will NOT be a One Event License fee for non-CCS racers to attend and race at this weekend.

$1000 Lap Record Bounty
Riding a 2005 Suzuki GSXR-1000 top MRA racer Shane Turpin set the MPH lap record for motorcycles at 1:29.209. Shane is a 4 time AMA/CCS National Champion, 5 time #1 plate holder, holds the current lap record at all tracks in Colorado, and is the current #1 plate holder in Colorado. He has "thrown down the gauntlet" and challenged any racer to beat his time. Shane has contributed $250 in cash to a fund started by TrackAddix and MPH that will be paid to anyone who beats the record.

Yamaha money weekend!
Calling all Yamaha racers. This will be a Yamaha contingency payout weekend.

CASH and Contingency payouts
$5000 in cash purse money and over $70,000 in sponsor contingency payouts will be available for this weekend. All TrackAddix GP events pay CASH purse money for both Amateur and Expert LW Grand Prix, MW SuperSport, HW SuperBike, and UNL Grand Prix classes.

MPH Facility Information
Track length 2.23 miles
20 RV power outlets with 50 amp, 30 amp, and 110 volt service
Vendor row with 10 powered sites containing 50 amp, 30 amp, and 110 volt service
Wireless high speed internet access throughout the paddock
Hot Pit lane with power in all pit boxes
Private shower facilities
Murphy's at the track food concessions

A Special Note from Dean
Lets see a huge turnout for this event! This is your chance to be a "Superstar" and help grow your sport. We know that as we near the end of the season, many of you are low on racing funds and that fuel prices have diminished your ability to travel. We know that Hastings is a long drive for many of our customers. Believe me when I say this track is worth the trip and you will be glad you came. After all, how often do you get to ride on a brand new race track? One MRA racer I spoke with this past weekend drove all the way from Salt Lake City. While driving across Nebraska he was thinking that he must be out of his mind doing this. Once he arrived and experienced MPH, he said the drive was totally worth it. I hope to see all of you there. Thank you for your support of the TrackAddix GP!

I was just tooling around on the MRA site and came across this thread:

http://forums.mra-racing.org/viewtopic.php?t=2787

Like most of you I kept hearing 'oh the place is super cool, yadda yadda yadda'-but to hear it from actual racers really drives it home!  I just hope lots of guys show up so we have some good competition!

 :wtf:

For what ever reason I had the Hastings event marked for this weekend (Sep 16-17) on my schedule, did the date change at some time and I missed it?

Now that I realize that it's next weekend, what the Hell were they thinking putting it on the same weekend as the last Wegman weekend EVER at Blackhawk Farms?!?! I seriously doubt they are going to have much of a  Midwest Region presence at that event, that was just poor planning in my opinion. Had this not been a conflicting event, I most likely would have gone! :wtf:
