Don Cook, AKA Dylanfan53, busted his collarbone at Autobahn this weekend.
I SWEAR I had absolutely nothing to do with it! :ahhh:
Heal quick Don!
Owwwiiiieee......
Heal up quick, Don.
What happened?
Dawn

I ran real wide at the first exit of T13 (I think that's what it is and used up my limited mental capacity thinking about it instead of telling myself to make the damn turn. I bailed and ran off where I shouldn't have and you can imagine the rest. Stupid.
I didn't even get to hear K3's dylan impersonation.
EMT:
Where're you pitted?
Me to myself:
Rats...what track was this?
Doc at ER:
Well, we xrayed the collarbone, chest and pelvis. Now you're going for a cat scan on your brain.
Me to myself:
I hate cats. My ex wife had cats. I hate my ex wife...
Me to doctor:
No, I'm ok, my brain's clear. I'll pass.
Doctor:
Well, we really think you should have one.
Me:
No, my head's clear. If you want to go looking for problems I'll point you in the right direction. You can check my prostate.
Doc:
Okay, I record that you refused the cat scan.
Seriously K3. Thanks to all the staff at Sportbike Tracktime. When I finally got back wondering how I was going to pack up one-armed, in the dark and loopy from pain killers I was speechless to find my trailer well packed and cinched down. Some of the guys I don't even know across from me were responsible as well as staff members. If you find out who they are, please tell them thanks from me. They rock.
Needless to say, I'm out for the year. Bike's not bad but I already see some expensive bits that need replaced.
Aren't you a little old to be racing motorcycles? :ass: Heal up quick.

Don, would there be any doubt that your stuff would be packed? I thought you would have known better by now.
Chris probably had it well organized, barking orders, and making sure everything was jjjjuuuuuuussssstttt right. Because that is what he does. There was only once that Paul went to the races without me, but I didn't worry too much because he was with K3.
Although I received a phone call from a really, ahem, tipsy Paul that Saturday nightGet better soon.

Wish I could take credit, but I didn't even KNOW Don had crashed until he and his wife stopped by my pit to say goodbye! Don was pitted as far from me as he possibly could have been, so I didn't notice he'd gone missing. The other STT folks didn't realize that Cook & I are friends, so they didn't know to come tell me.
Nope, the guys who packed Don's trailer were other staff members. Actually, most anyone who works for STT has at some point packed up the equipment of some unfortunate rider. I work with a pretty damn cool bunch of people.
Hey Don, your wife is very nice! How come you never bring her?

Don, Don, Don..... did you just feel the need to join the brokien collar bone club? And you have been riding so well this year too. What a damn shame dude! How is the bike? (not that you need to get it done any time soon......)
So which one was it? The right collar or left? I'm right handed and broke my right one. I Had to learn to use the left hand for.... umm.... er... well.... you know!!
Heal soon my friend. Come to BFR so we can tease you!
And to Kevin Clark..... :ass:

Yeah... uh... right. Whatever you say K3. HOWEVER, we're got past photos that could be used to establish a motive

Hmmm.... So you're into digital (and other?) probes, eh Don?

Oh do *I* ever know what you mean Bernie! Thank God for electric razors. I would have probably slit my throat with a plain razor
Hey Bernie, the bike isn't bad. I need to get an undermount steering damper though. The side mount was a $350 "disposable" unit.
H, uh no. :ahhh:
See you all at the Wegman weekend...
Damn Cook! That sucks man! Geeze, now I gotta chase Bernie down? Eh, oh well.....LOL!!!
Heal up quick man.
Aw, that sucks, Don. I hope you heal up quick.
Stumpy had a rough weekend on two wheels, too. He crashed hard in a mountain bike race. Really could have used the leather suit. He did say it was the first time he felt the same adrenelin as on a motorcycle, though. Here's the results fit to show the public. He'd get a skin graft but the skin on his butt is gone, too.

Miss ya!
Heather
I gave up roadracing bicycles when I made Cat 3, way too dangerous. Seems to me it was shortly after a friend of a friend took 5000 (no that's not a typo) stitches to the face in a crash in a break group. Let's see 30 MPH wearing shorts the thickness of paper and a tshirt the thickness of paper or 130 MPH wearing a cow...... I think I'll go with the motorcycles, MUCH safer!
Get well quick Don, You seemed in pretty good spirits Sunday night but I'm not sure if you have any more of those meds. Good luck and hope to see you out there soon.

He he he.....!
Damn, Stumpy looks gay-er every day! Must be all that bicycle riding!
Don, heal well man! I refuse to believe that K3 had nothing to do with that! Just cuz he wasn't around doesn't mean you can't blame him!
Ouch Stumpy! Glad you have Heather to doctor you.
Saw the ortho doc today and he says it may come down to plate and screws but wants to be conservative and wait a couple weeks and re-xray.
I'll spare the medical details but thanks to all of you for the well wishes. It helps because I am totally bummed to be out of it until next spring.
Hope you have a good weekend at ACC South. The track is bumpy, but not as bumpy as the grass. :wah:
Damn, that sucks.......but I know your pain, I have an appointment with the surgeon tomorrow to see if I get a plate & some screws in mine :wah:
The thing still hurts after 2 1/2 weeks...
Get well Don, hope you get well soon enough to get possibly one more weekend in.

Like I told you at the track, call me if you want me to come up and help you fix the bike. I hope the plate thing can be avoided. Good luck.
:(
Don,
Glad you dragged your banged up carcass out at Autobahn today, it was great to see you.
Those are some pretty damn impressive bruises! Yikes!
Heal fast.
Paul
