Title: CCS changing race order posted online
Post by: ahastings on August 28, 2006, 09:56:36 AM
Why does CCS change the schedule from what is posted online? It has happened to me a couple times this year. We are forced to pre-enter to get decent grid positions and not pay the jacked up post entry prices. Well I pick what classes to run based on the schedule online, so I don't have back to back races. Then I get to the track this weekend and I end up with 3 races back to back. Thanks CCS for costing me an extra entry fee for a race I had to sit out of.

I'm with Arnie....I would really like to hear an explanation to this.  I always try to pre-enter for races so I don't have back-to-backs if possible and then I get to the track only to find that all of my races have been combined and are closer together.

Oops!  My bad.....

That happens to me all the time though.

I guess on the whole I'd rather see Experts run 3 back-to-backs then Amateurs... I thought the experience factor would make it work out.

If it helps I ended up with 3 double back-to-backs...

Not to be a prick here but if you tell CCS you are no longer running as many classes because of their scheduling it may change. Money talks.............

I dont' understand why people whine about back to backs in the first place.  These are sprint races!  I'm geezer and was often running GT and sprint back to back last year.  They give you a break between races if you need one and you don't need much time to recover between races.

Schedules change mostly based on the grid size or other special circumstances (i.e., weather, unforeseen downtime, etc).

If you end up with back-to-back's, talk to the race director and ask for a break.  The last time that a schedule change forced a back-to-back for me, I asked and they slotted a learning curves session between the races I (and others) were concerned about.

I don't mind one back to back, I do it regularly. It is when I have 3 in a row that is a problem especially when it isn't that way when I pre-register. Yeah I could run 3 in a row, but I am a very competitive person, so I am out there running hard usually top 3 expert and I don't want to just cruise around at an endurance pace.

Yeah...three in a row would take some of the fun out of it.  I was being a bit of a smartass this morning.   ::)

On the expert side, some tires don't last long.  If you have an important race, one might use one of those tires for one race then put a different one on for the next ones.  Three in a row?  More wheels, more than one bike, and/or a helper.  Races being so close together have caused me to change my habits for entering races.

Yep, I agree, same for the amateur side.  I ended up pushing a worn out set of tires 2 races further to hit a big enough break to change them.

Yeah Arnie, It's no big deal to go out and ride three races on two different bikes, try to win races, changes tires, warmers bleed bracks etc etc. Dylan get a fricken clue. IT has nothing to do with the lengh of the races its the facts you sit for post tech, have to go back to pits and what was stated above.

No need to be rude Miz, I backed off in my second post.
