Title: Transmitter mounting
Post by: Pimpdaddy on August 23, 2006, 09:17:36 PM
First time racer next week. CCs says they rent you a transmitter. Question is where and how do these mount. I want to be ready when I get to the track. If its velcro I am ready. Also can you buy these so you do not have to rent and are they the same thing as a lap timer. Thanks for all the help guys.

You can buy the mount for 5 bucks and zip tie it in the nose or on the tail! It does not help lap times or finishes if its in the front, so it does not matter where it is! Photo finishes are the officials decision, not the transmitters! FIY!

Also they don't rent the transponder, they loan it to you. don't forget to return it .

For CCS races, the transmitter must be mounted on the tail section.  It's very easy for the Buell.  Look at mine at the trackday on Sunday.

This is a Trackaddix event, so you will have to rent the transponder.

Oh yeah, Dave, I'll bring that wood for you this weekend!

Thanks Guys. Davre I will see you Sunday. Track addics said they will cost you 25.00 a day and 300.00 if you loose it. You mean to say at some races they are loaned to you?

Yes a "true" CCS event gives you the transponder (for the weekend).... it is a different kind than trackaddix uses though and requires a different bracket.
