I registered for the races at VIR in june, but was not able to make it due to injury. Is there any refund either whole or partial, and if so, how can I apply it to another race I want to pre register for?
You can call the office, but I wouldn't expect anything if I were you. Refunds need to be filed before the start of racing on the day of racing...
If you reserve a hotel room, you expect them to hold that room for you regardless your arrival time. If you don't show up, they still kept the room for you and hence, will charge you for it...
A spot on the grid is exactly the same...
I understand if that is the case, but not all sanctioning bodies operate that way.
Like I say, call them and explain the situation. Kevin understands the costs to us racers and is a reasonable person by my account...

You mean to tell me there`s a racing orginization that will refund you money 2 months after you miss a race?? Dude, if you did not talk to someone BEFORE the event started and you get your money back I`ll be one surprised MoFo!!!
In fact, I never talked to anyone at all. I was pre registered, did not show up for the event, and a few weeks later I got a credit slip in the mail for all but a $20 dollar processing fee. Pretty damn good customer service as far as Im concerned.

that is pretty good. I had no such luck when trying to get a refund for a CCS race that I prereged for. Apparently, you forfeit the money for your first race you request a refund for, even if you have a mechanical and notify them before the race starts. :wtf:
He's talking about a refund he got at a different racing organization, not the one from VIR with CCS.
