Title: LW AM riders going to Hallett????
Post by: Jack_Brock on August 10, 2006, 08:34:35 PM
So guys and gals, who is making Hallett?

I am doing everything I can to get parts for my bike in time(yeah, I had an uh-oh).  I probably won't know for sure until next weekend, but I have my fingers crossed.  I guess we will see.  I hope to see you all.....

I am planning on attending but have a lot of logistics that require the planets to align.

I'll be there.  Did they resurface the track?

No resurface.  Supposedly they ground down some areas and applied rejuvenator(whatever that is).  It didn't seem that much different, except now the surface is black.  The track record got broken at the CMRA race, so its not any slower, but there are a few slick spots off line.  If you have time to walk it, I'd highly recommend it.

Rich gets around Hallett pretty well, so you better bring your A game Nick.  I'd be surprised if there are any amateurs catching you guys, well, at least Rich :lmao:

URGENT:

Anybody have any SV forks or an inner tube?  One of my inner tubes is damaged.

What year bike is the front end off of?

It looks like the front ends are different from the 99-02 SV to the 03-on SV.  My bike is a 2003, so I am looking for the later model stuff.

GSXR forks sound good!  I may have a lead on some, so I guess we will see, but I don't see it being done in time for Hallett.  Still open to late model SV forks if anybody has any.....

Wouldn't a first gen work in a pinch??  I might have an extra wheel and I bet we could find some brakes and stuff to get you through the weekend..

Time is my biggest enemy right now.  I'm gone 3 nights this week, so if I round up parts, I'll be putting it together on Saturday.  I think I may have found a set to borrow, so it all may work out in the end.  Thanks for the offers btw!

I see that TrackAddix's has grouped the GTL/GTU races together for Hallett.  Assuming that this is to provide more practise time on Saturday.  Is there anything I should be mentally preparing for since I usually run GTL and the GTU guys are faster?

I'm sure GTL will be the second wave-do me a favor and don't blow by me this time ;)

I did do some work on the jetting on the SV and it seems to have picked up a fair bit of power-hopefully I can keep you guys in sight now!

Hey that was just a good start, and I can't help that Rich was just holding us up ;)  I figured it would be a 2 wave and with it being a GTL on a 1.8 mile track I am guessing I will get lapped.  Traffic should be interesting.  Guess it won't be much different than when Ed Key blows by me.

yes I am.  In reality, I can come in next to last behind every EX and AM as long as your behind me.  Thats all that matters!
