Title: Life is good.....
Post by: EX#996 on August 08, 2006, 04:09:33 PM
Even with all the BS in the world, sometimes you just have to take a step back and look at how fortunate you really are...

I'm still looking for a job, but I still have mine until 2/28/07...

Gas it really hitting the budget hard...

The home improvements are taking longer than expected and is costing more too...

                                                    BUT

I'll finish this later, I'm making fried chicken and biskets for supper.

To finish my thoughts...

Even with the other 'opportunities to overcome' listed above, I really enjoyed the day.  Here are some of the things that made me smile...

The pure excitement my neighbor showed when he was telling me that a bear is coming into his bait in the swamp.

The same neighbor having to 'jack those boys up' when his two sons got into it with each other (they're 10 & 12).

Seeing Renee and the boys picking up the apples under the apple trees for the deer, bear and any other creature that decides to wander through.

Eventhough I allowed more room between rows (six feet to be exact) of cucumbers, squash, watermelon and cantelope, I still had to take a sissors and trim the vines to find my onions and beans.

... and last but not least, I was able to get some yard work done.

Even though we have been struggling with the bike situation in our house as of late it's getting better.  Vic scored an EBC clutch for the SV today for $40.  Knowing the right people.  I got a new head and pistons for my bike off of Ebay for pretty cheap.  I've got a really good job and am acutally getting along with people very well recently.  Things seem to be looking up.  We have a beautiful home and an adorable little puppy.  We both have good jobs right now and things are going better in most aspects.  This is a good thread BTW.
I'm glad that friends and family are getting better and that racers are healing from their accidents.
Thanks for making me think about all the positive today.  :)

Jeesh.... Sometimes I can't spell at all!

Guy:

Do you prefer mechanical or hydraulic?

Flat-tappet or roller?

... or one of those variable timing cams?

Oh my god!! You are killing me!!!!

I prefer solid roller cams (hydraulics are for people who can't commit).  the tick is too cool and a big duration roller that idles like it has just ate 3 harleys for breakfast makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up at full attention

Don't worry about it Guy, we're talking about Edgar here.

Just ignore him like the rest of us do.

Dawn

P.S.  I agree about the cams.  I also like the whine you get with gear driven timing.   Here's a question (probably a no brainer) - standard or automatic?

Off to Road America for 2 days of STT.  Sunday Monday for Road A, then Friday, Saturday, Sunday at Gingerman.  A three-day work week is almost bearable, even at my shitty real-world job.  Yeah, life is good, at least when I'm riding!

Must be a manual, and gear drives are way cool

nothing beats  the pop of 14 plus comp, the 2000 rpm idle of a beautiful solid  roller cam, the smell of c-16, and the solid THUD of a jerico going through its gears,  now if id just quit buying more bikes and put my car back together...

>Life is good, gas is $3.25 a gallon, I feel my company possibly comes to the table with no increase in wages in 2006, my gf dumped me.
>But the good life starts when I realize I have 3 beautiful sons who are happy, healthy, and great. I've got 'a job', I've got the new R6, I've got friends like some of you, I got the gym, and I got Otis!

PJ,

Could it be that you called her by the wrong name one too many times?

Or was it something smaller....
