Can an amateur run ASRA  races?  Or is it a bad idea?

Thunderbike is the only ASRA class that allows Amatuers, but ASRA weekends are always combined with CCS so there is the normal full slate of CCS classes.

Hey becka. yeah you could run thunderbike as an AM. Anthony Dean runs them and says they are fun, Id imagine it would be good fun for you too, him and Dave always seem to be battling it out. Ive been thinking about getting out there, but havent been able to justify the license cost with basically no chance of payback at this point. When you say is it a bad idea? im assuming you mean as far as speed differential, and that should be no problem I was running the same lap times at topeka as the 5-7 place guys so you should have no problem seeing all the trouble you gave me at Topeka, where by the way you were flying, i had to drop 2 seconds a lap to catch you after i ran off the track, and you still beat me.

I have run a couple ASRA races and it is fun along with being some extra track time.  The qualifying and overall experience is a nice change.  Dought I will be winning any of the races anytime soon but haven't done to bad.  Heck I even got some money at HPT.  They pay all the way to 10th place unlike our other races which are just to 5th I think in GTL.  Most the bikes are really fast and got some juice in them, so a Stock SV really gets motored no matter what you do.

I like the overall aspects of it because it just seems more like what I would anticipate an AMA race might be like.

+1 thunderbike class -and +1 stock sv or thereabouts, gets smoked on most straightline speed zones at all tracks- more for us "huskier racers" :spank: :banghead:!+1 for qualifing experience- this isnt a cheap education we're getting but as long as ccs and urself are already in town :boink:------GO 4 IT.... S'all good, check out theyre lines when/if  they go by! NJ JOHN

Don't the riders need to be close to the same size for suspension set up in TC?

left it for while.  we changed the front, and dropped like 3 seconds a lap.  I'm still getting around to change the rear.

No, I won't be there.  I'm not even gonna make the next MW race at Blackhawk.  Too much other stuff to get wrapped up before the end of the good weather and while its still light until 8pm every night.  The plan is to run at Joliet, maybe the Wegman in late September at Blackhawk, but I am definately going to Daytona in October.  I've never raced there, but I can't wait.  Good luck out at Hallet if you make it there.  Let me know how you do.
