Title: BHF repaved... again
Post by: oldrider on July 14, 2006, 03:07:15 PM
I heard that they repaved part of BHF -  turns 1,2,3,5 and 7 - and that this was done YESTERDAY!?!?!? Should make for an interesting race weekend. How much oil do you think the track is going to leak in this heat  :wtf:

I heard the track was slippery from the new pavement, bumps are gone in some corners, but there's transition issues from old pavement to new.

Let's have everyone ride smart so we can have as safe a second half of the season as possible!

BHF trackday:
Couple of O ans O's, only 1 crash and ambulance call. Track was wet in the morning. Transitions loaded up with rubber as the day went on. One oil spill from corner 1 to 5 1" line.

Lets hope this weekend stays that way (minus the oil spill).

Hope that oil spill is cleaned up and no problem by the time we all get there in the morning...

The repaved spots were excellent until they could not take the abuse anymore. Between the extreme afternoon heat and the bikes it was too much. We were literally pulling blacktop out with the tires and depositing it in another part of the corner, in little piles that LOOKED like tire rubber. Unfortunately, it would harden and acted like gravel.

Way to go to Bill F. and the crew for handling it the way they did, with the meeting and all. Kinda hard to cancel an event when you're in the middle of it with great weather!!

It's supposed to be cooler down there today... :kicknuts:

Was a bit cooler. Also was a bit less 'busy' crash truck wise.

Also Todd, just a FYI........

Turn 7 turns right.

I think that while they've got the machienery down there 7 should be straightened into a woods jaunt/bend/chicane. Keeps pulling me that way... :ahhh:

There's definately grooves forming throughout the track. The new surface was just shredding away @ 3A I believe it's called.  Hot, hot, weather out there didn't help last weekend. I wondered why they didn't wait until later in the year?? I wonder what the cars will do to it??
