On a buell...
Whats considered the engine case according to the rule book? Everything below the heads? Or is it just the lower part of the engine where the crank is?
All the buell manuals refer to the case as just the lower part and cylinders the middle part..
On a Buell, aren't the cylinders separate? I'd call them separate from the cases.
I'd define cases as the cases that hold the crank and the transmission. Lots of Japanese bikes now have the cylinders cast as part of the cases.
Check with one Mr Vanderslice.... :lmao:
He works for neither the AMA nor CCS.

Where is he now? He was the general liason between Buell and the AMA, in the FX debacle, correct? With his resume I didn't think it would be long before he found a slot through/with the FIM...
I would side with Dave... I was struggling on how to reply, but he filled in the piece I was unsure of. That piece being 'Lots of Japanese bikes now have the cylinders cast as part of the cases'.
On my RR for example, if I were to exclude the cylinders, that's the entire top half of my engine case. Holds the tranny and crank, so that would really be the "engine case".
If the cylinder is removable it should not be counted as part of the engine case... (not that my logic or Dave's will win you a protest, but it sounds logical).
Unsure what you are asking.
You can give me a shout at the office and we can discuss what mods you are wanting to make and what class that fits you into.

Google it. He left before Daytona. AMA officials of his level regularly work with the FIM. Ron Barrick does about three to four FIM road race events each year. Merril work with KR's program when they were on Yamaha's some time ago.
And Kocinski and many others...I figured he'd go full time with the FIM or go work with KR again. Nothing wrong with taking some time off.
so sully dave, mr. vanderass was still prowling the halls at ama after daytona......he's gone now for sure, because i would not be on any committee at ama if he was still there.
"engine case", the box your new engine was delivered in................. thou shall not modify it :spank:
