Title: STOLEN RACE BIKE - 2006 GSXR 600
Post by: r6dink on July 11, 2006, 11:13:11 AM
Late last night my housemate's / teammate's race bike was stolen out of the trailer parked in our driveway in College Park, Maryland.

Only reason they didnt get mine is because mine is out being fixed.

It was an all yellow 2006 Suzuki GSXR 600
AM #723
Some of the more identifiable features were as follows
-All Yellow Sharkskinz (and tank) with "Traction Tuning" Vinyl
- Leo Vince Can
- Vortex Rearsets
- Scotts Damper
- RK 520 chain w/ vortex sprockets
- Michelin Pilot Power race tires
- broken fairing stay
- "long" dent in the top of the tank running along the line of the bike front to back as a result of a tree branch falling on top.

VIN # JS1GN7DA462100704

Sorry for your lost as this would drive me nuts.  I worry about this all the time.  Was the trailer enclosed?  What kind of locks did you use and how did they break in?  Give us the details so we can do everything possible to prevent it from happening to someelse.  If I load my trailer early, I typically leave my bike in the garage and load last right when I am ready to leave.  Also, if my trailer is hooked to my truck ready to go, I always park my wife's car directly in front of it so no one steals my truck / trailer combo.  What worries me more is travelling to a far away track where you have to stay in the middle of nowhere.  What precautions would you have taken in this situation.  Driving to Barber next month and may just drive straight to ease my headaches.

Hope you catch these bastards,
Brent

It should be legal to shoot bike thieves.  After all, they used to hang horse thieves....  Sorry, man.  That totally sucks.  Your teammate must want to :wah: :wah: :wah:.

not if they don't find the bodies.

And I know 3500 acres which they would never find a body.

Or you go to a nice deep fast moving river, rent a wood chipper. Toss parts in with wood and let er spray into the river. Generally everything will be so small they'll never find enough.
