Title: Which racing school for the Homestead's June race?
Post by: Jimmy on March 28, 2002, 10:00:53 PM
Hi All,

I would like to go to a racing school and was wondering which school will be at Homestead for the June race. I know that Penguin racing school will be there for the Dec. race but they don't have the June race on their schedule. Thanks

Jimmy

Jimmy

Take the Frank Kinsey Racing School. Frank is a great guy. You'll learn a lot more from him than the Penguin school. I won't get into why, just trust me.  Your better off with Frank.

I can definitely vouch for Frank's school. At the very worse, you'll get more miles per buck. His schedule provides for amps of track time at a leisurely pace, and by that I mean you won't be running you a$$ off all day between track sessions and classrooms, trying to find time to pee.

Good luck, stay safe,
Dave

I have a question for you guys. I've been trying to find what do I need to do to my bike to be able to take it to the track. I have an 01 F4i. Here is the list of thing I will be doing to it :
Flush coolant and replace with water
  Tape all Lights
  Remove mirrors
  tape speedo
safety wire all fluids caps and oil filter
  Secure the kick stand.

 Did I miss anything??
Btw, I will be taking school with Frank.

Thanks

Jimmy

Well, if you're only doing the track day school and NOT racing, you don't need to safety wire anything.  Thou wiring up the kickstand is a good idea.

Add some WaterWeter for your radiator. (It's good for all your aluminum parts.) This way you won't have to add back any coolant.

Pull the fuse that works your head and tail/brake lights. I would pull out the headlights if its not too much trouble.

Tape up your rear taillight.

Last, drop your tire's psi. to what ever is being used for your tires that day. Just ask around. But do it before you get on the track or before you heat up your tires. Change it when they are cold.

That's all I can think of right now...
