So last night I awoke to this trying to come through my roof!

The stuff was golf-ball size. I've never seen hail this big. Luckily the RV was down in IL for repairs, or it would have surely sustained damage. The only damage was the roof vent on the trailer, my mail box was about destroyed and the weber grill is all dimpled up.

Guess it's time to re-think that car-port for the RV...
Holy shit! :o We didn't have anything! Anything damaged?
So far the only things I know of that are damaged would be the roof vent in the trailer and the mailbox.
Haven't gotten a good look at the roof or siding yet.
Sorry Dude, I just started golfing and been slicing a lot. Didn't think anyone would notice in the dark.
Can I have my balls back?
I was having dinner in Marion and the restaurant manager herded all of us into the kitchen area when the Cedar Rapids sirens went off... Didn't see anything, but further south got hit real bad - lots of destruction in Iowa City.
That's some scarry stuff, I saw the weather this morning, tornado must have come pretty close to you, glad to see you guys are ok.
We had all the watches and warnings going on here but didn't get much of anything. Strong rain and wind for about 10 minutes and it blew through.
I heard reports of golf ball to baseball size hail in Menomonee Falls and other northern suburbs.
I went out for a drive last night to watch all the cool lightning. Fortunately, I was right next to a gas station when the hail hit - so I ducked under their awning for about 15 minutes.
I'm going to miss thunderstorms... they don't get any in WA state :(

But hey! WA is a state where it is still legal to have relations with farm animals...

And you know this because...? :o :o :o
You truly don't want the link to the video of the guy who died while engaging a horse... It was a big news story about 6 months ago.
One immediately thinks 'oh, he was stepped on or crushed'.. no... he was the RECEIVER :o :o

The internet is a BAD place... There are some things which should not be seen, and once seen cannot be erased from your memory..
Jeff,
Sorry to hear you went through that...I mean about the hail, not the horse ;)
Anyway, if your house was hit you definitely took life off the roof shingles. At the very least you will probably need to do some patching. The reason I say this is that we went through the same thing about five years ago. The hail literally stripped the leaves off trees, tulips, etc.
All my neighbors called their insurance agents and within a few days the place was crawling with adjusters and repair people.
I don't scare easy, but I finally caved in and called too. The insurance guy came out and paid for an entire new roof. Our house was only about a year old at the time. I asked how bad the damage was and his reply was something to the effect that there was no way my insurance company wasn't going to pay for a new roof when everyone else on the block was getting one so I should just take the money and bank it until repair/replacement was necessary. There was a lot of shingle gravel in the gutters that was an obviously indication of reduced life.
Call your agent.
I have seen the one of a girl and a horse...
Yeah Jeff, I would call an expert. That hail looks pretty big!!! We had a stom here in MN a few years back that dropped a ton of hail and a lot of houses got brand new roofs out of it. I guess it's hard to determine the amount of damage if you don't know what to look for.
Oh, and in that first pic, is that a crack pipe lighter on the left there? ;D

Aren't they all?
Okay, you guys have given me enough thought to call today.
I looked and have about 20 pieces of siding at the very least that need to be replaced. All east facing walls... ugh. :'(
Okay, well I made the call. They were VERY familiar with the storm. Not sure when, but an adjuster will be calling me to come out and assess the situation.
