Title: Road America RACE ORDER
Post by: jer271 on April 11, 2006, 05:47:54 PM
does anyone find it sensable to maybe put the LW class from the end of the day between Mw SS AND SPEEDSCREEN UNLIMITED to give  us guys a break on sat,  and LWGP between SPORTBIKE and UNLIMITED on SUN.  Its just a possible suggestion to give the majority of the guys a break that are doing those races. I could be wrong but I dont think it would mess up anybody else and we wont be rushed. SORRY if you guys from lw are gonna run Those classess but I think majority would rule here.

maybe they should run in this order...7,8,3,9,13, then 10... and on sunday insert 5 between 3 and 4??? this would make a world of dif. to me. this hurt any of u lw guys, cant we all just get along???

Well All Iwas thinking about was the LW races at the end of the day would be best if placed in between especially on sunday being some guys, MY FATASS included, it  will be hard to run 10 laps then go to a race where your trying too run for local points. 9 times out of 10 A guy on an SV is not gonna run these races in mention that get the break.

YA KNOW when you bring up stupid shit on this site everybody chimes in, when you bring up a poossible relivent idea nobody really wants to say anything. If any body agrees with this we should change it now and not in the middle of the riders meeting @ RA where nobody can hear Bill anyway  and where stuck with the way it is!!

Not change at the riders meeting; be sure that the starter knows that a break is needed between races for people in back to back races.

When this was discussed I said it was too late to change the schedule for Road America but I could look what may be possible for Barber as it had the same tenative schedule.

Why is it to late to change?

Possibility of change in the future, sure. However, when I pre-reg, I put these things into consideration BEFORE I pull the trigger. Make sense? If you made the decision to register in those races back-to-back...?

IAm sure if enough people would not just lie down about this and leave it alone and look at more than just a air fence for a safty factor it could get changed pretty quick.

But no lets just rush people into racing back to back races when there is a way out of it, where every body would benifit Lw guys would be done sooner MAjority of the guys would be fresh for thier races and be able too check thier bikes, tires, etc...if some people would look closer to this they would relize what some are saying "SAFTY" which is what I thought was one of are goals around here I thought this was kindA A new CCS.

Iam not trying too Blackball myself or start shit Iam just starting too realize that iam getting older and have too go too work and cant race a marathon anymore and it is club racing that we should, being members, have more of a say so inthe race order.

Just in case the schedule isn't changed and so you feel better, the breaks are pretty good.  You won't have time to go back to your pit, though.  Just make sure you have someone to meet you at the wall with fuel for the bike and a drink.  You'll have to stop down by start/finish because of your transponder.  Don't forget your fire extinguisher, too, while fueling.  If you're prepared, you'll be ready to go when it's time.

Doesn't this just weed out who's done their cardio this winter anyway?   ;)

I agree with Jeremy on this one. Why can't the schedule be changed? I understand that all of the materials have been printed and distributed and it would take an ungodly effort to fix that. However all of the riders should be at the morning meeting, make the announcement there and again a few races before the LW runs.   The last thing we need to do at Road America is take a break.  Usually with the iffy weather we end up running shorter races or have the last few races at a different location anyway.

I agree with Jeremy.  Doesn't sound like a whole lot of thought was put into the schedule.

Gotchya, adjustments will be made on both ends, more than likely, and you did the right thing by calling Ft Worth to talk with Kevin or Eric.

I'm in agreement, Jeremy.

I've brought it up at times, but I've been shot down.

Additionally, if you have to go to tech for an air filter check or something, the time is running on your tires cooling down if you can only afford one bike for many classes, as most of us do.

Then you have to go jump into a meat grinder like ULGP with cold tires.  Would be logical to place certain classes between each other to separate classes that do not have similar bikes in them to keep racers racing as many classes as they can afford to race with a greater margin of safety.

well, Iam one person making a legitamite bitch here if everyone would get on the "bandwagon" we might actually get somewhere and on CCS's side of it, There is only four people overworked trying to do this for us. Thats why when there is rule meetings and such people sould put their 2cents in, and on that note lets see what we can maybe do about this for the here and now and the future and evrybody work togather.

im on board if for nothing more than saftey, some of these are combined races and should see pretty large grids. furthermore,i dont understand this, what classes are you supposed to run if you want more than one race. im in 8 9 and 10 (8, the only purse class in 06 then 9 and 10, supersport races) where is the logic in this? i can almost see no change if a lot of guys programs would be affected, would a reorganization of the races hurt anyone? what about those going for championships? they dont have the luxury of consulting the schedule to decide what classes they will run on any given race weekend.will there really be time for breaks?
