Some might already know this, but Im getting into the photography business this spring...I mainly will be at Blackhawk Farms for trackdays and other events.  Im not sure how many CCSer's want pics of themselves, but hope to see you out there....Will be doing CD's, montages and On-site Printing (8x12's)..

QuoteWelcome to the club! There's one or two of us out there at all times at CCS events. Are you a racer too? Good luck, and by the way, nice website. Mike of Mike's Photography.

Not a racer(yet) maybe someday....I'm just a motorsports junky who loves photography....

Nikon still owns you. ;D ;D

BTW make sure you dont have red or yellow on if you want to come out to the corner stations. Also listen to the cornerworkers. We have final say out there. I had to yell at one (dont think he was a professional) who snuck out to the tirewall between 3a and 4 last year.

I equate Nikon to (Ducati).... does the same job as a Canon (Yamaha ), but costs twice as much.  ::)

Yeah....There is an order going out for couple thousand tomorrow for equipment...I'm not gonna get the 30D....I don't need a bigger screen, when I take a pic, I know it will be good!    ;D

Well I used a Canon AE1P from 1983-2004 if that means anything (still ahev and it works perfectly. Just switched over to a DSLR). ;D

If Canon had a Dslr the equivelent to the D70 in price, size and features I probably would had got one. The 300D (digital rebel) felt too small for me and teh rear buttons were too clumsy for me to use. A friend got a XT and I do like it. I wish the XT was out in 2004 when I got my D70. The local camera shop here dropped Nikon like a hot potato apparently due to some nikon thing requiring them to carry so much film equipment even though their sales are about 80% digital. Sad really since the stores owner was a die-hard nikon guy. Looking at teh Canon 5D for a next one. But that means all new lenses and batteries. ;D

KTG, if that was you, nothing personal against ya. Just dont want to see anyone get hit by a flying bike or parts.

Hey Mike, what happened to Ritz in Cherryvale Mall? Went down to rockford last weekend to look for a camera/laptop backpack and they were gone? Other than Lundgrens and Camera Craft, wheres the other camera shops (especially ones that carry nikon)?

Madison sucks for camera shops. The Camera Company is a nice place, but pricey. Yet to go to WIlliamson Camera there and both the Ritz stores there closed also. We have Star Photo here in Janesville, but they dropped Nikon this year.

Haven't been to Cherryvale in a long time....I remember my dad buying Nikon equipment there at Ritz.....Camera Craft has come to know us personally, but Sometimes there prices(especially 3rd party...) are out of hand!  Lungrens....blahhh.  You just need to head to Helix in Chicago.  Spent alot of cash there!  Its the best place to shop besides B&H(bhphoto.com)....Also in Oak Brook,IL there is a used Helix store.....Saw a rare olive Nikon F4 there once.
