+1 to that. I usually run 23 rear and 30 in the front :)
22PSI rear, and I regularly ran 34 in the front for my chassis. PR-C Michelin race tire might allow one to use lower pressures in the front because of its new shape and the resulting chassis geomertry.
Not to jack the thread or anything but what compound do you Michi guys run at RA when it's 35 degrees? I have 2 PR1 fronts, a PR3 rear and a Power Race Soft rear. Any help would be appreciated.
Walt Schaefer actually had racers going out on Pilot powers (street tires..) when it was 30+- Deg. out.. The race tires just wont get up to temp to stick well, street tires will potentially work better in that instance.
+1 to that... the 1-4 last year were shredded to poop after a few sprints...

+1 That would be my plan. Even in warmer conditions, those tires rock. I wouldn't win races at a ridiculous pace, but I could stay close to the lead pack in July given the times I could turn on them when we tested them.

How much did you change geometry for the new PRC front? Bike was running Pirelli and changing it over to Mich this weekend. Thanks for the info.

I was using the PR2 last year. Then I used a 713 front, which was kind of a transition tire last year. I made no change at that time from the PR2 to 713. When I changed from the 713 to the PRC, I made no change. Yeah, their diameters are all a bit different, but their shapes are too.
I'd talk to your local Michelin race tire guy and get an idea from him.
The newest Pirelli's are different in height compared to the previous Pirelli's, so depending upon which one you have available to you currently, it might all be different.
the prc is 3 mm taller(radius) than the pr1/2. thats what i was told :thumb:
Bike was measured/setup for Pirelli Supercorsa Pro series and because Tom/Edgar support our local events, I have to run Mich...not to mention they work well and I'm going slow enough to run Powers and be safe. :ahhh:

I'm going to be running l.c.r on august 19 and race(first time) on sept 23 (wegman/blackhawk). this may be off topic,BUT Would it be safe to run Pilot Powers street tires for me? I'm on an R1.. Factory specs on the bike call for 36 psi front/rear. Also, for the psi ya'll are posting----> does it matter on tire size? ex: 180/55 vs. 190/50 ??
School on Pilot Powers, yeah, definitely.
Race with them? I had a decent amount of experience with them on track, and I could race on them. I wouldn't be able to put down the same times as race tires...
On my 600, I believe that I ran 31 front 26 rear for tire pressure. Contact http://www.masonracintires.com for more information. Rear tire size? There seems to be a lot of merit for the 180 over the 190. Contact Tom at that link I gave you to really sort it out.

Yeah, it has been done. And the other way around too. Tom has a very large knowledge base.
