Is it just me or is the contingency info a little lacking?! How many more races have to go by before the info is complete? I hope that`s not all there is this year! Tires....?
Gee Tommy,
aren't tires enough? 8)
Would be good to have the info before Road America though.

I've heard ugly rumors (from EXTREMELY reliable sources) that a number of companies failed to pay the contingencys they had offered at the 2005 ROC. I also heard that at least one company had the ballz to run ads showing the pictures of ROC winners who used their product, and then STILL didn't pay the promised contingency to those same riders. So that doesn't bode well for this year....
Four second place finishes at ROC, and not a penny from Pirelli or EBC. But the Pirelli rep came running up to make sure I had his hat on before taking pics in victory lane. >:( >:(

Ya.....some poor racers will have already been going for over two months by then.... >:(
You can't economically sue for the amount of contingency mony that was promised and not delivered, but this is clearly breach of contract. The prizes were offered, the participants competed in good faith, and the companies renegged. I'm surprised that there haven't been a slew of letters to Roadracing World about this. Something tells me that once roused, John Ulrich can make himself much harder to ignore than a bunch of individual club racers....
Sounds like a job for some attorney to f/u w/ a class action case. Money for atty and damages (recovered contingency) + penalty for the riders in the plaintiff class.
Has anyone looked at the vanson contingency setup lately? Do they payout for am and ex? Is the contingency certificates for product or money? This may sound like a silly question, remember I am new. Go easy.
Just got done reading this thread.
I noticed you guys talking about ROC and contingency monies that maybe owed.
I am not 100% sure of all the info... but I can tell you that I did get my dunlop money for FUSA Daytona BUT I didnt get paid from Dunlop for CCS Results.
I called Dunlop Contingency department and she said she didnot have the results for my CCS Races. I found them online (with the help of Adam Vella and Kevin Elliot) and submitted the info to her. She paid me. I think that the OLD company that processed the contingency info for 2005 dropped the ball and didnt submit all the info to the proper vendors. I maybe wrong in saying that.... but that is what I think.
So best thing to do is contact the people you feel owe you $$ from Daytona and ask if they have the info.. if not... work with the CCS people to get the results to them so they can pay you.
If you search the board... two weeks ago ... Adam Vella posted a link to view the ROC results.
Moving forward.... Contingency's will be processed in house at CCS and will be handled FAR MORE promptly than in the past and I am confident that they will be done accurately.
Again.. if u didnt get paid... sometimes you gotta work to get your money.... at least I do and I have been paid on everything owed to me & that I have earned.

( ;-) thats for you Eric K! :-) hahaha )
My complaint has more to do with the website not having payout and class info for (tire/brake/oil etc)contingency. Many riders pick classes based on tire money etc. Do we have ANY tire contingency? What about brakes? Kinda late......?
Scott Greenwood, you are my hero 8)

Moving out to Colorado next week, time for a change of pace (and tracks, schoolyard politics etc ;D) I even bought me a 'big boy' bikes which is actually Vella's old 1000. My wife has never really liked the North East and wants to be a little closer to her parents and her Bro so we are moving to Colorado which is half way between both, Colorado isnt close to anywhere but is in the middle of everything :)
Gonna miss playing with you, Eric and Jeff, good luck for the season!
You too Clarkie... best of luck with both you and the Mrs.
Hope Scott (Jensen) is healing up ok after the collarbone. I had just got out of my truck and walked up to the horseshoe fence and WAM! on his head he went. Looked at Tim O'Connor and said...thats not how you want to start your AMA Season.
Anyway... take care.

it started off worse when his new (to him) Ohlins gas forks had a problem, lost pressure he crashed in the chicane :( He said he was sliding on his back and looked up and saw his bike nose-dive onto the front end with new new $10,000 forks attached. didnt bust the forks thankfully but not something you want to see.
Good luck, ride safe, may see you out at MMP if things work out 8)
