Can someone tell me what caused that rider (Fania they said was his name -- anyone know him?) to crash on the way out of NASCAR Turn 4, and then give the double bird to the crowd? There's gotta be an explanation . . .
I taped the whole thing, I will have to go back and look at that, maybe because it was the beginning of the race and maybe they thought he looked like an idio crashing out of pit lane, hehe?
yeah I was wondering the same thing. i was waiting for a comment or a replay, but I didn't see anything. The part that got me was that they were behind the pace-car for 4 laps after that. Hope he didn't want his sponsors for the rest of the year!
Now the AMA is saying that the pace car didn't change the outcome of the race . . . I think the pace car WOULD have changed the outcome if it had been done properly. Sigh.
In any case, can't wait to hear the full Fania story.

time to call yates.
This is the same guy that Yates drop kicked last year becasue they ran into each other and crashed...I thouhgt it was funny that the race announcers kind of got quiet and didn't say anything as soon as they noticed the birdies.... I'm just wondering if the AMA is going to fine him for his actions.....That really looks bad for racing in the US, I mean you don't see any of the World Superbike/sport or MotoGP riders doing anything like that...Not that I like Nascar, but I don't think they would let any of their drivers get away with that.....

ahhhh...now you guys don't think yates was such a bad judge of character afterall.....huh!?!
yates rules!
Y'all remember when Colin Edwards flipped off the marshals in Germany because they didn't put out the oil flag? Two or three guys crashed . . . the marshals never lifted a finger . . . so . . . he gave THEM the finger.
Didn't you guys see the movie Faster. Rossi flipped off Biaggi after Max pushed him off the track.
I never thought that Max pushed. Just a small area to work with and you move around. Still, you flip people you like and don't like...
I was looking at the fastest time sheets for the Daytona 200, and Fania was the fastest. I wonder if his throttle stuck open or something...
Hey, when exactly did Edwards flip the bird, I recorded it all, and can't find that part.
If you're talking about Fania in the 200 it was a lap in the low 50's. It's what caused the pace car to come out and ruin the race.
That was yesterday, right? Well, I'm going off now to check that out, then go for a bicycle ride, it's not bad out today. ;D

About four years ago at the German round of the WSB. Foggy won, Edwards Chili, and Yanagawa crashed in the same corner one lap after the next, after the next. Hence the whole bird thing

Someone on the Jennings forum said they saw his front wheel get taken out, then the bike running down the track -- but no rider.
