Title: Daytona gearing?
Post by: BC61 on December 30, 2002, 08:09:47 AM
First time going to Daytona, looking for some starting points with gearing. Looking for feed back from new gen GSXR 600 riders, relatively stock(pipe&PC), preferably on Pirreli/Metzlers. What gearing and consistant lap times did you run?
Thanks

In 2001 I rode mine there.  I had Michelin's on at the time, so you'd want to add one to the back.  I believe that I ran a 16(stock)/43 or 44.  2:00 lap times in 2001.  I guess with the new chicane, times are lower now, so my time would "convert" to a 1:58 or so.  Was good enough for fourth in the Suzuki Cup Middleweight Supersport event.  I had a pipe, no PC, and Power Mist Racing Fuel...
