Title: Motorcycle Cameras
Post by: gpstar1 on February 08, 2006, 08:15:18 AM
Just wondering if anyone out there had one of these things and if they were happy with its performance. Also, are cameras legal for racing in ccs? Will you pass tech with one on your bike?  Just looking for feedback on this item.

CCS allows cameras on bikes as long as they are properly secured and do not interfere with the control of the motorcycle.

I use a rubber block and duct tape.  Seems to work fine.

Dave, a rubber block will not record your laps.  :o ;) ;D
BTW: Love the new name! ;)

Side note: If you are recording with sound, test for sound buffering, or you will have lots of unwanted wind noise.

I used a camera like that a few times, but I didn't like it to much..I had it installed in the nose of my bike...

I use a Very Small Sony Mini-DV Camera and mount that screws into the gas cap holes...This equipped with a wide-angle lens, get the speedo, tach, and everything else you would want to see in the view...And the sound is great IMO...

Goto my site, and look at some of my on-board Race footage and your will see what I am talking about...

LHP has a bike cam deal right now - I think the email said $140.  Probably more info on their site.
