Same here...  I was half awake when I saw it, and it scared the hell out of me...

WOW!  Yeah, this is why I dont street ride anymore.  People are just not good at seeing bikes.  I've even had people look at me right in my eyes and STILL pull out right in front of me!  Its not so bad when you are doing 30mph, but at 60mph, it will kill you in a hurry.

Just one more reason I love the track so much!

I second that Dave....There are just too many things to worry about while on the street......I know that i'm not the only one, but not long after I started racing I quit riding on the street. At first because it was boring and then I figured out how unsafe it was...Nowadays I don't even feel safe on the street while riding a bike....... To throw my two cents out there - I think that the DMV should incoporate that commercial or something like that into Drivers ED, and also stress or reinforce the motorcyclist thing while getting your drivers license...........

WOW! That is why i retired street riding and save it all for the track. People today are I too much of a hurry to get somewhere or there talking on cell phones not paying attention. I am always looking for bikers, but others just won't take the time to take a second look.

I lived what basically was in the commercial, except I hit the car head-on. I still ride on the street, I love bikes to much to pass up the opp to ride. If you saw the statistics on people that slip in the shower and brake their necks, is that going to prevent you from taking a shower?

When people start jumping into showers unexpectedly and snapping necks of unsuspecting bathers, yes, I will probably re-think my hygiene...   8)

But hey, I just don't street ride because all my money goes into racing...

I still street ride. Can't imagine quitting. This is my 27th year. I mostly commute - 10,000 to 14,000 miles per year. While car divers certainly are a problem, motorcyclists are also. I have noticed over the years that as I have gained more experience, close calls have dropped to very few per year if any. To street ride you must stay very aware of your surroundings and anticipate the mistakes of others. Also avoiding putting yourself into situations that you cannot get out of.

I quit street riding because I have no self control. It's only fun when I ride like a complete @sshole.
I decided to quit and stay out of jail or the morgue...
