Title: Trackbike Rental
Post by: Gregor on February 01, 2006, 04:39:22 PM
I'm interested in renting a trackbike for some trackdays/schools at Blackhawk, Autobahn and Gingerman. I'm not looking for a trick-of-the-day doubble throwdown racer, just a 500-750 cc trackbike I can learn on. Maybe a rent-to-buy.

I'd appreciate any help/suggestions or referrals.

Thanks!   :)

Code's had programs at Blackhawk.  Schwantz is exclusive to Road Atlanta, and Spencer is exclusive to Las Vegas.

If you have a friend that is looking to help you out, that might be the way to start.

Unfortunately, track day and race bikes get used during the season.  Now, is a great time to buy, if you're looking.  Or if you have street bike, there are many opportunities you can just try it out with that.  Much less danger on a race track when compared to the street.  Still, it's the nut on the end of the handle bar that controls everything.

We have considered renting bikes and having a program in place for trackdays etc. Our biggest fear though is liability. There just seems to be too much risk and not enough coverage to make me feel safe.

Exactly...

I had the same thought in the past (create a company providing this service), but the liability is waaaaay too high.

Now loaning a bike out at the track to someone I know/trust is a different story.

Sure, you can rent my bike any time... Fee is 100% of replacement cost.
