I'm really interested in how Kenny Roberts will do on his dad's bike in MotoGP this year.
His father's obstinance and persistance is almost goofy, but he understands what he wants. The trick is just having the time to get it all done correctly.
His son doesn't seem so nearly wound up like his dad. He rode well, and he was able to be the World Champion. However, it has just appeared that the Suzuki squad hasn't had the funds to really take care of business to get the bike to work in a championship winning format. Good luck to Hopkins. I hope for good things for him, but it isn't going to be easy. I don't think his results speak for how hard he's working.
Now, the KR program has Honda engines. Might be a wise move as their directly supported teams haven't seemed to been able to get things moving like they had in years past. Maybe supplying engines to the KR team will signal some kind of change. I don't know, but I'm hoping that it brings some new excitement to the series.
Little Kenny is inside the top ten on the first day of testing at Phillip Island, apparently with only one chassis to test. Doesn't make things easy for him, but it makes it exciting for me to wait for the results.
Well if you ask me. I don't think Kenny Jr. has the same drive as some of the other riders in the field. We'll see after the first race but Honda motor or not is he putting forth the same effort as in 2000. Now back when I raced Kenny Sr. on the old TZ there was definitely a noticeable determination in his eyes. I just think that the next generation of MotoGp racers has that extra quality that Jr. is lacking.

If you were racing a bike that was manufactured to be continually behind...well, it would be hard to find a reason to try and go out and kill yourself to win on it. Raced vintage bikes like that. Promises, promises.
Your forgot to mention that KR's on those michelin's. Are they as good as the yams or other honds tires ?
Yamaha & Honda are on Michelin too. Ducati is on Bridgestone.

Hopkins' results do speak for how hard he is trying, sort of -- he has crashed a few times because he's over-riding that bike! It would be great to see him on a top-tier machine.
I'm curious to see how Stoner will do. And I see that Pedrose was right up there in the Malaysia test. Might just be a good season.

Yamaha and Suzuki are testing in Qatar. Next week, I think.
I'm really interested to see how KRJR does this year. Lots of people bash him for not being "driven" or whatever. If pushing over your limit moves you from 3rd to 1st, that one thing. If riding consistently over the line means moving from 13th to 12th, do YOU risk it?
Why it rains, the Suzooks are at the front. When it's dry, they aren't. I think that says alot about the bike and the riders...

Verrrrry funny :P Schtick aside, you know that Checa will be next to Keith Richards and a hoard of Roaches if the big one ever hit. He's had more GP crashes than any other rider in history and never even broken anything... so it'll take more than Dunlops to get rid of him.

I bet Dunlop has a whole team in charge of making sure Checa doesn't get his hands on any AMA exploding tire footage.....

I think that speaks for both of them. I don't think that either "isn't trying". But it certainly seems like Hopper gets the better end of the press deal. I think both missed rounds this season due to injury, right?
