I'm sad to say I think I am giving up the sport. I have been fighting with motivation all off season and quite honestly I am just not willing to throw myself down the track and get hurt again.
I'm kind of choked up writing this as racing has been a huge part of my life for the past 3 years. This was one of the hardest parts about folding...telling you guys "I quit" was something I was not looking forward too.
I've made a ton of friends doing this and to anyone getting started- GO FOR IT! This was the absolute coolest thing I have done in my life next to getting married and having kids. I wouldn't take back a single weekend at the track.
I want to say thank you to all the Sponsors that helped me out through the years. Ronnie at Krazy Kustomz for the great paint, Cafe racer Inc. for all the moral support and for the great local hook up on parts and service, Lockheart Phillips for being my first sponsor and always being willing to help when I needed something that I couldn't find locally and for signing me the following years no questions asked, Spider Leatherworks for the great tailor jobs and art work, Vortex for making a great sprocket, Sharkskinz for sending me bodywork on a regular basis , Hometown Threads for the pit shirts polos and hats, and Trevor for the Fuel and the paint job that I crashed the crap out of .
I'm sure I missed someone as I was never real good at promoting my sponsors...that's one thing I wish I had done better.
I'll have a bunch of stuff for sale in the Classified section. I have a really nice 636 that ran up front in the Amature class darn near all season long. I also have a crap ton of spares, performance parts, a trailor, genny, warmers, leathers, the whole bit. Let me know if I can help you out with anything.
Thanks for the memories guys...you know who you are. Good luck to all of you in 2006.
Such is life, Chuck. I've said all along that if you having fun, you wouldn't be at the track. It's just too hard to be there otherwise.
Now we'll have to see if rumors start that you quit racing motorcycles to race bicycles instead. ;D ::)
Good luck, Chuck!!!
Heather
Good luck in future endeavors Chuck! Maybe come out and putt around at a track day.
Thanks guys..you guys would laugh your A$$es off if you knew what I was racing in 2006.
I sure will miss waking up at the track and playing all day with you guys. It sure was fun while it lasted.

Video games don't count. :o ;)
Don't be a stranger, come and visit just to watch your buds and turn a wrench or two.
I know when I decided to forego racing, it was hard, (and I was snot slow!), it was the best choice
for me because then I could devote my energy to helping others within the sport.
Good luck!
Sorry to read that Chuck!
Good luck with whatever it is you'll be racing next year!
Thanks...
This is what I'll be racing, lots of fun, no risk! Did I mention a day of racing only costs you $15??? :o ;D

i have about 600 in my traxxus truck, including crash parts, you could run it at the track after the races
lol...
It does add up but not nearly as fast. I have about $1000 in that HPI Savage, and I'm getting ready to buy a traxxas Revo and outfit it for racing as well.
Hey! If it's any consolation, you can come help us cornerworkers! ;D
I feel your pain. I just keep hanging around, and the old injuries just keep getting more arthritic. I'm lucky enough to have never been hurt REALLY badly, but it gets harder every year to bend these old legs up onto the rearsets. :-[ Have fun in whatever you do, and don't forget where the track is. It's OK to visit.
Sorry to hear you're not going to be out on the track this year. I hope to see you in the paddock at some of the races. This sport can be enjoyed off the track as well as on the track, as I'm sure you know. Good Luck.
Chuck I'm glad we starting racing together the second half of the season. I had a great time drinking, traveling, racing, drinking, trash talking, drinking, crashing stuff, drinking, etc. I'll miss ya at the track but we'll still hang out in KC!
