My new bike came with a AMB transponder hard wired to the bike. Anyone know if I can use it instead of the CCS units?
randy just give it a try your first weekend... if your results arent posted...well... then you know! ;D
(oh wait... not racing you next year... standby for a knowledgeable answer ;))
Only at the GP-only events as they will be using the AMB system. All other regions use a different timing setup.

I'm new to CCS this year. I've got a AMB transponder that I use with WERA. Are you saying that I won't be able to use it in the regional races with CCS? Thanks for any help that you can give, John Hart

If they use the other system, then yes, you will have to mount a new transponder on the tail section just over the rear wheel.
The provide the transponder for free. Just don't forget to turn it back in before you leave.
CCS supplies teh transponder (at least in teh MW region) and its not compatible with AMB.
Thanks for the tip Timmay! Just in case, I think I'll go to the scoring tower and let them know that whatever place #575 came in, I was right in front of him. ;D
So, at GP events I can save the rental fee and use my AMB, but at other events I'll use the standard CCS units.

its ok ... I'm used to finishing behind you... ;)
as for saving the transposnder fee... I would confirm with Dean... but seems logical!
