I will be moving from amateur to expert for 2006, hopefully. When would I expect to see some confirmation of my expert competition number??
CCS numbers aren't assigned by expert or amateur. If you've already paid and opted to keep your amateur number, you're all set. If you requested a different number, you'll have to wait until the renewal deadline and then see if your choice is available.
Have you checked the bump list to see if you were moved up? If you earned enough points last year, the bump will have happened automatically.

K3, I beg to differ.
IIRC, if an amatuer bumps up and attempts to renew a number already in use by an expert who has also renewed that number (within the same region), the amateur will be forced to select a new number.
I could be wrong, but I believe that is the correct processing.
You are right JeF4y. Only if you stay an AM do you get to kep your number or if you are going on another year of expert. Just because you were #1234 as an AM doesn't mean you can be #1234 if it's being used already.
I dont remember seeing an AM and EX with the same # in same region... I thought only one # was issued regardless of status?
There is one number list for am and ex...so there is not an am #123 and ex #123...
let me clarify - one nuber list per region...
I've been Midwest expert #42 for the last 3 years (AM 1 year before that).
H-Man is AM #42.
H, did you register Great Plains or Midwest?

Stop trying to give away my number. ;D
I think H is GP. No, I think I'm right, as Buffy pointed out. There is only one number list per region, so am and ex both draw from that list, and there can't be an am and an ex from the same region with matching numbers.
K3 is right.
There is only on # per region.
Example. #13s and their regions
#13 Bill Hitch-thingy ... Midwest (I believe)
#13 Gene Paul Gilcrest (The old Great Lakes)
#13 Xian Great Plains
#13 The guy on the team wright bike??? No clue what his region is.

That's Barney Wright....
... we've been trying to figure out where he's from for a long time now. LOL!

I think Barney was Grandfathered in on that one (literally) ;D
Something about him never being able to find his bike if he had to change the number! ;D

I was issued #42 AM, but I believe I was placed in the Great Lakes region in order to do so. (or maybe it was because I live in MI).
Last year they kept the Great Lakes region name so all was cool. This year there is no Great Lakes region.
No problem, mon for the H-man. I'd switched to #426 to match my WERA number.
One set of numbers for a region as Buffy (she is an official from MA) Xian and K3 pointed out.
Once issued a number that is yours as long as you renew by deadline. Only reason you may lose a number is if you move into a different region.

Thanks for the info, cool. I did check the bump list and I was not on it as I race LW F40 and Thunderbike I guess. I have enough points but more importantly by what Hewnry DeGouw has said, I have won two regional championships. It is time to move to the expert group within those classes.
