it's too early to be out there on anything but your feet. IMO.

Guy died.

From teh Janesville Gazette....

QuoteDELAVAN-Delavan Lake has claimed its first victim this winter ice season and its second victim this year.

Timothy J. Hanke, 48, of Delavan, died after his four-wheeler broke through ice 1½ inches thick sometime between 8:30 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday. The cause and time of his death were unknown this morning.

Hanke's wife reported him missing at 10 a.m. Monday. About four hours later, Town of Delavan Fire Department members found Hanke's mostly submerged four-wheeler about a half-mile west of Brown's Channel in 12 feet of water 25 yards from the south shore.

Didn't hear anything myself.

They were full on the road course at Sportsman's Park Saturday and Sunday.

I was down there Tuesday to get some stuff for my TTR90 and to arrange my 125.  I rode a four wheeler around the road course Tuesday and around the oval.

Delavan Lake's pretty good sized.  Got to decide on the right place to ride, and you shouldn't ride alone.

Dave, any idea on how deep the area is by Sportsman's Park?  and is the track big enough for large bikes or just mini's?

6" of ice is recommended for snowmobiles.   :-/

Again, a large Yamaha thing like a Kaw Mule was used to clear the ice several times.  It was jumped from the shore to the lake no problem.

Over 6"?  Probably.  Water is three feet where we ride.

Big bike?  No, don't bother.  The track is really set up for small bikes like TTR125's.

1 1/2 inches is not even enough for someone to walk on! We have 6 inches of ice here and no one is out riding!
