Seems to be the new Site?
Also, looks like the point system in 2006 is going to be the same as the FUSA in 2005...
Discuss.....
I was wondering how long it would take someone to find that...
I think it's VERY cool... Here's how it'd shake out this year if we were on it.

No longer will 15 races per weekend get you a #1. But 5 or 6 races well run surely will...
Looks like they are doing a major change to the top 10 Plates also...
No more buying #1 Plates and Championships...
Glad I got mine while I could.. ;D
Cool! I think that is great! They really needed to do that...
Hmm, I see that GT races no longer pay out!
So far, it sounds good.
I didn't read anything about qualifying for ULGP.
I didn't read anything about grid order.
You will pay less for a pre entry. ($5)
I like the keep it simple format.
since no longer a purse race would the GT's then fall into the 70/50/35 rule??
Yes. I did read that.
where are you looking exactly for the new point system? The new rules doesn't link to anything on the forms page??
click on forms... and then 2006 mailer

That sucks!! >:( I was gonna buy a #1 plate this year too.
Then I could get Lithium to sponsor my bicycle racing! :-X
Low blow... :(
Since the rules, points, and organization are changing so much, I wonder if I can go back to amatuer and start over.....the only thing I learned my first expert season was how to relocate my dislocated shoulders..... ;D
QuoteThat sucks!! >:( I was gonna buy a #1 plate this year too.

Jealous much?
That's funny. I've never heard anyone say that to our faces. Probably won't either, hey. Way to sign your name. Good luck to you.
And the low blow was.... ::)
Give me a break.
Heather
Dear Heather, I think his name is probably Mike :-/
QuoteI've never heard anyone say that to our faces. Probably won't either, hey.
Everybody talks behind Stumpy's back because that's all they ever saw of him on the track 8)
(I'm just hoping it was a joke which had no obvious marking of such. But then again I know better than to mess with a pregnant woman!)
Come on. Just because someone didn't put a smily face after it doesn't mean it wasn't a joke. Lighten up people! ;D ;D ;D ;D
Duh. Yeah it was a joke. (There's a tiny bit of truth in there but a joke none the less.)
Have a wonderful holiday season. ;D
If it was a joke, sorry for being ornery--if it was, in fact, a joke. But that "purchase" had a lot more behind it besides racking up points by being on a grid. And those who truely know us--not many people on this board really do--know that.
For the record, Stumpy doesn't have any bicycle racing sponsors. ;)
Heather

I'm still trying to figure out the tiny truth part, but thanks for clarifying. I guess you know more than I do!
Heather
UMMMM I guess we'll see. I like the fact that how well you do in your races count towards your # plate. Some changes...we'll see how it goes I guess.
NO purse for the GT races...that sucks
There should be more purse paying races.
It should be like it was in 2003 Money for GTs, ULGP, and Sportbike ;D ;D
Yes, this sounds like a step in the right direction. The fact that anyone could buy the #1 plate in the past, did not make the plates very credible. Not to down play anyone's achievements, either way takes commitment. Its sound like the guys/gals that are the fastest and most consistent will hold the top plates now. Also, I think that this will make the series more credible and highlight the talent that may have been over looked in the past.
We will see.............

Hey Jeff, what's the equation for calculating overall PI? Just curious....
http://ask.yahoo.com/20010720.html
8) ;D
Pi...
PI=(number of racers of racers in race - number that beat you)/Number of racers in race
QuotePI=(number of racers of racers in race - number that beat you)/Number of racers in race
Thanks Eric, that makes an easy spread sheet to calculate PI within each class and overall. ;)
And, Eric, congratulations on the gig...
Will be exciting!
Was hoping to get 1000s allowed in F-40. I guess thats just one less class I have to pay for.
Looks like that new Triumph 675 might be quite the ringer for Thunderbike.
QuoteLooks like that new Triumph 675 might be quite the ringer for Thunderbike.
Don't bet on it.... ::)
unless there were some rule changes made the triumph would have to be carb. correct?I think it said 1200 cc non f.i.
http://www.ccsracing.us/forms/2006/2006LicenseRenewalMailer.pdf
see front page...rules changes
are the rule changes for ccs and fusa(?) thunderbike classes?
I heard that FUSA (or whatever they want to call it now) was bringing back a literbike class. I guess not after looking at the mailer ??? If you want to run a national series that is the (somewhat) equivalent to AMA, how in the world do you exclude literbikes? So much for my participation...
Looks like no formula sportbike(750 class) either. Not that it was very heavily participated in. But it does remove a contingency paying class from the schedule!
The manufacturers were stopping contingency in Formula Sportbike, not enough entries, that's why it disappeared.
As far as liter bikes, we already get contingency in CCS Unlimited GP and we would have had to choose between the two classes since the budgets from manufacturers was already set, we chose to keep the class that "brought" us to the dance, CCS Unlimited GP.
Thanks to everyone who supports CCS Racing.
Will all the classes count towards the overall championship now too? (like thunderbike, supertwins, etc)
No, only SuperSport, SuperBike and GP classes count towards the overall championship.
QuoteNo, only SuperSport, SuperBike and GP classes count towards the overall championship.
Ok, so the GT classes will NOT count toward the overall champinoship based on that statement...
Correct?
I've got $10 that says the GT classes will be VERY sparse this season...
hmmm... Might be an easier class championship...
I don`t know Jeffy, everyone loves track time!
I was looking at this;
How To Get Started in Racing Under CCS (New Rider Mailer)
http://www.ccsracing.us/forms/2006/2006%20New%20Racer%20Pkg.pdf
and it shows;
* LIGHTWEIGHT SUPERSPORT
Three cylinder, liquid cooled, up to 675cc
* LIGHTWEIGHT SUPERBIKE
Three cylinder, liquid cooled, up to 700cc
* LIGHTWEIGHT GRAND PRIX
Three cylinder, up to 700cc
This means Triumph Daytona 675 gets to be in LIGHTWEIGHT class!? ??? :o :-/ :(
shouldn't it be in MIDDLEWEIGHT? :P
8.2 CCS SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS - Points earned in each class will be accumulated to determine Champions in each announced championship series as well as Race of Champions Grid Positions.
8.2.1 In the event of a tie, the rider with the most first place finishes will be declared Champion. If a tie still exists, then 2nd Place finishes will be used, etc. until the tie is broken. If a tie cannot be broken, then the riders will be declared CO-champions and order of entry will establish priority for Race ofChampions gridding.
8.2.2 Regional Top Ten competition numbers will be assigned in each series by combining all points scored in all SuperSport classes, all SuperBike classes, all GT classes, Lightweight Grand Prix, Middleweight Grand Prix and Unlimited Grand Prix by each Expert ranked rider during the season in that series. The rider with the most points will be issued #1 for the following season. The rider with the second highest point total in that region will be issued #2, etc., until ten riders have been assigned the numbers 1 through 10.
8.2.3 Regional Overall Championships (Amateur and Expert Divisions) will be assigned in each series by combining all points scored in all SuperSport classes, all SuperBike classes, all GT classes, Lightweight Grand Prix, Middleweight Grand Prix and Unlimited Grand Prix by each Amateur ranked rider during the season in that series. The rider with the most points will be recognized as the Regional Overall Champion.
Hey Kevin... I emailed you last week about what you spoke to Ryan about. Let me know if you're still interested in something, or if you have something already worked out.

CCS Thunderbike counts for this, right??
Has not previously.

Um, you and I are reading the same thing. I don't see where it is excluded, as of yet.
Kevin or Eric from CCS should have some guidance.
So let me understand this right. If one was to take 1st in points for ccs thunderbike you don't get anything for it??
For Thunderbike you do. But it doesn't add points to your overall regional championship points.
Quote But it doesn't add points to your overall regional championship points.
Yep. But it SHOULD count towards going expert.

Ok thanks dave. I was a little worried there for a second. I thought all that work I did this year was for nothing.
QuoteYep. But it SHOULD count towards going expert.
Doesn't count for advancement either. The same points used for overall are used for advancement, unless they change it. Are the number of points required for advancement changing with the new points system?
Don't worry Chris, Your name is on the bump-up list.
QuoteDon't worry Chris, Your name is on the bump-up list.
So do you think if i protest to stay in AM for 06 they'll let me. ;)
???WHY would you do that ???
Hey Kevin...didn't you notice his little ;) at the end??
Missed it ,Duh! Congradulations !! Your in the mix now too.
yea I saw that :o
It's gonna be hell out there if they allow that Triumph
....If? from the rule changes it's there!
Yeah I was just messin around there. Yes it will be hell out there next year if they allow that Triumph to race in the LW classes. Next year should be good I noticed a lot of AM's got bumped up to EX. Should be a good mix to the field.
