Title: Ice Racing Tires Anyone??? We have them!!
Post by: J Farrell / Speed Tech Motorsp on November 28, 2005, 11:30:35 AM
Anyone need I racing tires or screws. We have them in stock and ready to go. We also set them up for you depending on your riding purpose. Left oval flat track or road course setup. Send us your rims and we will ship them back ready to go.

Use either your stock motocross tires or go with the special Kenda ice racing tires w/liners.
We also sell liners. We use genuine Kold Kutter screws.
Let us setup your tires the proper way! We know the pattern to use for setting up your ice tires for best traction.
Call Jason @ Speed Tech Motorsports (920) 236-0000.

If you haven't rode on the ice and you roadrace. This is a magic key to speeding up your learing curve!!!
My first race ever was on the ice at age 4!! It's more enjoyable sometimes than roadracing.

It depends on how you want your tires studded. Are you just doing oval or full coarse?
Prices vary depending on tire setupl
The Kenda Rear 19" all studded up for Full Course will cost $375. Comes with a liner on the inside and a new heavy duty tube.
Left over rear set up is $325
Front Dunlop 490 21" all studded up for Full Course is $275 Comes w/ new tire, inside liner, & new heavy duty tube.
Left oval front setup is $240.
We are building tires daily for orders that come in. Place your order and it ships within 3-4 days.

Buy a full front & rear & receive $50 off for a total of $600!
Buy a oval front & rear & receive $40 off for a total of $525!

Tire Wraps are $34 a piece front or rear.
Call Jason @ (920) 216-0780 with needs.
Place order soon as more orders are coming in daily.

Use just these tires for winter and switch back and forth every year. Or buy a spare set of rims to put them on.
Most dirtbike tire sizes are the same so if you quit riding (which I'm sure you won't) you could always sell them to someone.
Use these tires for years and years.

I'm on my 3rd year with the same set of tires...

Considering that I go through this amount of $$ in tires every race weekend, this is a bargain...

I guess that explains the markup if they last that long.  :)

QuoteI guess that explains the markup if they last that long.  :)

I am not associated with Jason and have no vested interest where you buy your tires, but there is very little markup in this stuff.  The tires I've seen are between $500 and $700.

The COST on the materials is over $300, and then take into consideration the time involved in shooting in around 2750 studs front & rear.  Then go back and tune those studs for a riding style.

The time involved in this is insane.  If these guys are making $5/hr, they're lucky...

This is not a big money making business.

That being said for that kinda money I`d rather buy from a more experienced supplier (read Freddette)

But you are spending almost the same amount hoping they have the performance of the Fredettes.
Don`t get me wrong,I`ve tried to save a buck also.
I have a front rosine. Just my 2 cents. Fredettes are the sheet!

Are these Canadian Screws or AMA legal?  Our local org doesn't allow Canadians.
Title: Re: Ice Racing Tires Anyone??? We have them!!
Post by: J Farrell / Speed Tech Motorsp on December 01, 2005, 11:39:54 AM
Well I stand corrected. Originally that was the best price quote I could come up with. Like someone on here said. There is barely any mark up on these tires and installing the screws! I think it's more like $7 an hour.
I called my vendors this morning and worked out a better deal since we will be doing many tires. I will be offering price difference refunds to the people who have paid already.

After further figuring this is our new offer!

Our package comes with:
Brand new Ice Racing Kenda Rear 19" Tire
19" Inside Liner
The rear will have approx 1147 1" screws inserted with the SAME yes the same pattern as Fredettes tires! That pattern has been around for over 15 years! I'm not copying anyone. I have ice raced on the pattern and it works.
The rear will also come with a brand new rim strip & yes and a brand new heavy duty tube.

The front will come with a brand new Dunlop 490 21" tire with inside liner. There will be approx 540 1" screws installed. A brand new rim strip & heavy duty tube will also come in the package. I don't think your getting rim strips & tubes in any other deals.

These tires are setup for both sides use of full course riding :o

And for Icing on the cake!! Shipping will be included!!!  :o :o :o

Matched at $535 Delivered ;D ;D ;D

If you want just left oval tires knock of $75 and received them at your door for just $460!!!

If you are running a 19" front instead of the 21" you will need to ad $110 for the cost difference. So your looking at $645 delivered to your door!

So go with any other companys tire setup if you want that's cool. But this is our new deal we have to offer and like I said the pattern used is the same pattern everyone runs. There is only one pattern that works.
Depending on how our work load goes turn around time is less than 3 days at the rate were going.

Don't worry well break our backs and hands for you so you can kick some royal !ss on the track.  Time to learn how to slide! :D

There is an AMA National race in Menash, WI January 13-15th. Hope to see some of you guys there!
If anyone wants the ice racing schedule I'll post it.

QuoteGet used to it.  It's necessary and part of 'forum life'.  ;)

Ummm no.  It's not necessary.

Nothing makes me refuse to patronize a service or buy something more than a "bump" reply.  (Jason, this isn't directed at you as much as it is directed at the action) It's pure laziness and greed.

It's saying "hey, I know nobody really wants to buy this, but I really want you to".

It's saying "I really don't care what's going on here, but hey, everybody re-read my post".

It's saying "I don't have anything else to offer in my post, but HA! I made you look".

If you want to "bump" your post, reply with some tidbit of information that might entice someone to buy your product/service/whatever.  But to simply put the word "bump" in a post to bring it up to the top is unnecessary and rude.

Just my humble opinion...

(and see?  all it took was some controversy to keep this post at the top of the forum!  hell, he could have done that by asking (insert username here) if his knees have scabbed over yet)
Title: Re: Ice Racing Tires Anyone??? We have them!!
Post by: ekraft84 on December 07, 2005, 05:12:14 AM
LOL.  I think you're taking it a little too seriously.

Bumps are good - especially on really busy forums where your ad gets thrown to the 2nd-3rd page in less than a day.  I agree putting some useful information is good, but I don't know if taking offense to the word bump is justified IMO.

And I can't believe we're discussing this!  It is keeping this at the top though.  ;)

Correct me if I'm wrong. Tommy G???
Isn't that Tommy Girard??
I used to look up to you when I was an amatuer. I would stare in awe at your perfectly setup ZX7R. You used to kick everyones tails along with Todd Harrington too.
Lately things are changing in that department.

Todd will probably always be my favorite privateer rider of all time. Long live Todd!!
I hope your Tommy Girard cause if you aren't your surely leaving a bad impression on him with that name!

Jason you need to take a little more time reading posts before you lip off that way. No one was giving you personally a hard time. This is a forum for discussion and the ice tire topic is not new. The problem with reading these posts is sometime you can`t really tell 100% what they mean because you are dealing with the written word and the emotion you would normally get from a conversation is not present. When I said your post should be moved to classifieds it was a response to Jeff`s post and was not a complaint. You`ll find posts moving or disappearing here quite often. Relax. Enjoy. Good luck with your business. ;D

Yes traction is definately good. There is more traction in ice racing as compared to dirt tracking. You definately slide more in dirt tracking. It is so much fun to ice race or ride. You'll still slide but no where near as much as you think you will. The word ICE sounds slick but your running on some serious traction with those screws in the tires.
Put some warm clothes on the list too! ;D

Post by: J Farrell / Speed Tech Motorsp on December 10, 2005, 02:35:54 PM
No. You can lean over very far. As far as you can lean the thing over really. The screws are put in the whole tire all the way to the sides. The profile of the tires allow you to crank the thing over really far.  :)
